Excuse Me

Benjamin trying to get Henry to move out of his sleeping spot

Benjamin is by far the quirkiest of the four pugs.  He likes what he likes and whenever he wants something he wants it right then.  To him all gratification should be instant.  So it is amusing to watch how he acts when he wants something and can’t have it.  A good example is when one of the other pugs is in one of his favorite sleeping spots (it is usually Henry and the spot in question is almost always the dog bed on the ottoman in my office).  Benny will pace back and forth.  You can see the wheels turning in that little head of his trying to reconcile that what he wants isn’t available.  And then, after a few minutes of turmoil, he will claim whatever spot he wanted like there is nothing there.  He will just simply lay right on top of whoever is occupying what he wants.  You can look at him and tell that he is not comfortable.  He would be much better off if he picked a different spot to rest, but instead, he just lays on top of whoever is where he wants to be knowing that they will eventually get tired of him smothering them and they will move.

Yesterday, Benjamin executed his little devious plan on Henry who beat Benny to the coveted dog bed in my office.  However, it took Henry over a half an hour to get tired of Benjamin laying on him.  Henry was taking so long to move that I thought Benjamin was going to be the one to give in first.  But, Benny toughed it out and Henry finally moved up a level to the bin and Benny eventually got the spot he wanted all to himself.

Sooo cute…My Baxter is like Ben…knows what he wants, when he wants it and that is that…very set in his ways!!!  They look so cozy, those two sweet lil’ brothers!!!

Love little Benny!  Sleighbelle is a bit like that.  When we are in bed and I happen to be in a spot that she wants, she paws, and pushes, and wiggles her way into just the right spot.  I’m always the one that gives in, I guess in this equation, I’m Henry!

That is just too funny and absolutely brightens my day.

I went to a local grocery store this morning and always stop to look at the bulletin board.  Yup, the first thing I see is an add for five of the cutest little pugs for sale.  $375 each….....I want them all!!

They never cease to amaze me, and warm my heart.  Sometimes Mr. Skittles will stand in the middle of the tv room and bark, and bark, until someone figures out what he wants.  Which is usually to stop watching tv and play with him!!

At our house it is the battle of the ankles/feet. There are three of us, one pug and endless “who am i gonna nestle up to next?”
Ultimately it is me, and I get the puggie pout when I gate him and go upstairs to bed.
It’s J next… unless daddy has his slippers on and is in the mood to play.
Thay are too much fun. I will never ever have a house without atleast one pug.

Yup, sounds just like Toeby!  He doesn’t care who or what is in the way, he just “PLOPS” down, usually on C.J.‘s head!
