Late For Work

Henry

The other day, I decided to take Henry outside and give him one more chance to potty before I left for work. It was a gorgeous morning and the sun was shining bright. I was feeling optimistic, when Henry quickly trotted down the driveway and started smelling the tree. Then he turned away and plopped right down in the sun. He had no intention of budging, until he got his morning dose of vitamin D.

Your work is of no consequence to a pug enjoying the sun!

Hi everyone,

I’m sorry to have to use this Henry entry to give you guys my update but I can’t seem to get back to the time of my wife’s lovely tribute and my regular update section so please bear with me.

Anyway, all is relatively well with the menagerie as there are no major situations…just the onset of expected diffculties with Georgie and his eye issues. He is losing his sight and I took him to his regular appointment for the acupuncture treatments and I had his eyes examined and he has cataracts, which isn’t uncommon, but now I have to decide how much money I can spend and still keep my promise to Nancy concerning my caring for the entire brood for as long as they may live.

Ohio State wants to charge me around $3800 to do both eyes if they feel it is warranted, and I have an appointment scheduled to see exactly what the extent of treatment will involve. This appointment will cost me 150 dollars and that would be the only actual money I have committed to his treatment. What do you guys think. The entire bill for both eyes could run me around 3800 dollars and Georgie is 8 years old. He is the sweetest little dog in the entire world (Daddy is very prejudiced when it comes to Georgie) but even prejudiced Daddies like myself have financial limits (and of course there are six other animals in our family if you don’t count the aquarium with the gold fish).

By the way, we stopped at McDonalds on the way home from Georgie’s appointment to get Georgie his two pork sausage patties, just for him!!!! He is such a sweet boy….

I’ll try the zoom feature in digging out any return messages that I may get on this. It seems that as I go back to older posts, it eventually reduces down to a size I can’t see and that’s why I am using this section of Henry’s post. Sorry Henry! Georgie needs everyone’s advice. (As does his worried Daddy.)

I have much more to tell you but I will stop now.

Suggestions???

Sincerely,

Brian

Concerning Georgie, $3800 is a lot of money for an 8 year old pug with cataracts.  Only you can make that decision.  I will tell you, however, that if he goes blind as a result, he will not be in any pain, and you will be surprised how quickly he learns to get around and compensates with his other senses.  If Georgie were the only pug I would immediately tell you to go for it, but with all the other fur and fin babies, you have to give that very careful consideration.

Give Georgie and all the other babies hugs from Annie Fannie and me.
