More Morphing

Henry

We have shared that Henry has been taking on some of the traits of Benny & Luna. Well, we have discovered even more examples.

A recent thing Henry has been doing that is very Looney-like is wanting his PM chewy stick. While Luna used to dance around and then bark at us for her nighttime chewy stick, Henry will simply stare us down with his one eye. Sometimes he will release a little groan if we are not acting quickly enough but mostly just eye us when he is ready for a chewy. It's always about the same time of night when Luna would make her request. So, he must have really liked that pattern that Luna had developed for them. Now it's PM chewy for Henry each night, too.

The thing that Henry has started to do that is Benny-like however, is not as cute (and a little bit sad) and is very UN-Looney-like. He's been having some pee pee accidents. Now, in Henry's defense, he is down a kidney! And the vet says it is probably just a side effect of his prednisone. But Henry has had 3 potty accidents (that he slept through) over the last week. And Benny, towards the end, would simply just start walking and a squirt, squirt, squirt would come a little bit of pee pee. He wouldn't even know it. He'd just be like a basketball player and dribble along the way. We will be getting Henry a little medicinal help with his pee pee troubles, though. We will get meds that counter act the side effect of the pred. It would be great if it counter acted the side effect of "excessive panting" too but we found a work around for that side effect (dosing him half tab in the AM and half tab in the PM instead of all at once in the AM or PM). So, we are working it out.

Henry still is holding strong to his own personality but he has incorporated some of the very noticeable attributes of his dearly departed siblings. Team Henry. Henry Strong. All Day Long.

With all that poor Henry is and has gone through, he is a real trooper, pee pee and all!  He is always in our thoughts and prayers, thinking of him all the time.
And of course, so is his family.

Hang in there, little dude!

Sweet Henry is honoring the memories of Looney and Baby Benny, and I think trying to give you comfort as well, even if not necessarily the best of habits.

Evidently, he had been letting Luna do the heavy lifting—getting mom and dad to give out the chewies!  Love that he is giving you the stink eye in order to continue to get them.  As for the leaking situation, that is unfortunate, but certainly managable.

Oh sweet Henry. Sometimes when Bella is on prednisone, she has an accident here or there. It’s ok and it happens to the best of us. Luna would be proud that you are demanding your chewy stick at night by giving them the stink eye.

Henry strong all day long!!!!!

Getting the evening “stink-eye” huh? We get it from Lucy too, and she gets rude and barks at us if we don’t snap to it. Pen, on the other hand, just looks worried, as if he’s thinking, “Is something wrong?? Are we out of chew sticks??? Because I know if we had some you’d give us one, so we must be out.”
We’ll continue you pray for Henry’s health.

I’m glad Henry’s enjoying Luna’s tradition of the evening chewy stick!

And I think between being down to one kidney and the prednisone, Henry’s got a lot to cope with.  I think/hope that some time can help a lot with that!

Love from Bennie and me to everyone at TeamHenryAllDayLong!

Awwh-he looks so sweet…just wanna pet his little pug head. Maybe he is adopting some of Luna’s and Benny’s behavior because it makes him feel closer to them. I think it’s kinda sweet…minus the peeing part of course;)

Prednisone is horrible on humans-can only imagine how Henry must feel. One side effect I had was wanting to do bodily harm to anyone around me-NOT NICE and I pray Henry won’t have that side effect! Hope whatever the vet has Henry try it works. Holding all in prayer & thoughts. Henry Strong All Day Long! pug hugs from pastor sue & the Colorado 2

Henry seems to saying “I want my chewy stick, STAT!”

You are the best Puggy Parents for continuing to adjust and adapt the treatment/meds to do Henry the most good.

Bella takes prednisone sometimes and I can tell it makes her feel so much better. It takes away her ‘itchies’. She isn’t on it all the time but when she is, she is more comfortable.

My sister takes it for her allergies too sometimes and she says it makes her feel so much better too.
