On the Mend

Benjamin

I am very happy to report that Benny's tail was back in its regularly curled position yesterday. After a great night's sleep and a very restful day, Benny was feeling much better. He still has some soreness, but overall he is doing much better. Now, the tricky part is keeping him still until Sunday. The vet's orders was to restrict his activity until next week. That means no walks, no running, no jumping and not too much milling around the house. The better he feels, the harder it is to keep him quiet. But, I much rather have the problem of trying to keep him still than to see his little tail uncurled.

Tail up…yay!!!  I think most, if not all, of us have been there to keep them quiet after they start feeling better.  But Corrine, you are right in rather having the work of keeping them quiet rather than seeing the tail uncurled.  And with having the marvelous pugsitters you have, I’m sure they will stay on top of that during the day while you’re at work.

Kisses to Benny.

I’m very happy that Benjamin is coming along!

Probably the best way to keep him quiet is for you to sit on the couch and watch tv.  When I’m a couch potato, Bennie wants to be one with me!

sue, glad your Toby is feeling better.  I never heard of an anal sac bursting…poor baby, that must have been painful.

Come on puggies, no more medical issues around here.  We need a carefree period.

Sue VDB, I agree!  At least I have good news on Toeby!  He continues to improve every day…He has so much more energy!  We went for a long walk last night and his breathing was sooooo much better!  His recovery time after the walk is shorter by a remarkable amount and he even seems happier!  His eyes are much brighter and I think he’s doing great!  Hope all the illin’ puggies out there are better soon!

And Benny, how RUDE of me to not comment on your situation!  Corrine, did the vet say if that was a common thing, for his leg to just pop out like that?  That is just the strangest thing, the more I think about it, the stranger it gets!  I am glad he’s recuperating nicely!

Yeah Benny, so glad you got the curl back!!  Abby pulled the uncurled tail on me about a year ago, when she came in from outside and shook really hard but in the process whacked her tail against a brick wall.  Just bruised it really good per the vet’s x-rays but her tail was so swollen she couldn’t get any resemblance of a curl for over a week:(  Good ‘ol Rimadyl…

Might be best Baby Benny, to stay on the dog beds.  Ooo I am worried about seeing you perched on the pillow pile on the sofa.

Corrine, love the pillow.  It somehow makes a showcase of the Benny wrinkles.  You should have had a “before” and “after” picture of Benny’s tail.  Now Georgie’s “knees” pop out without much reason, but I’m assuming the shoulder (at least Benny’s) may do the same?

Yea Sue VDB, and I had thought we had been pretty lucky this year.  Guess not.

Karen, Yeah for Toeby.  Pug hugs.

Sue, what was it like when Toby’s anal sac burst? How did you know? I didn’t know that could happen. Pug hugs, too.

The uncurled tail breaks my heart too.  So glad he’s doing so much better! Give all the pugs and Cupid a kiss from Nebraska please!
