Relaxing

Benjamin

Getting the pathology results on Friday helped us enjoy the holiday weekend. Benny started feeling better and was almost back to himself and after just one day of Luna's new eye drop, we started to see an improvement in her eye. Both of those things were very relieving and helped make for a relaxing weekend.

Good news, good friends, family and fun. Those were the ingredients of our much needed and much enjoyed holiday weekend.

If anyone deserved a relaxing week-end it is you. Oh how we worry about our puggies. Friday am after our walk, my Toby had a seizure ( His first one) and I was worried sick. Hopefully it was an isolated incident.

So glad to hear Benjamin is feeling up to par and that Miss Luna’s peepers are moister by the minute!

Marica, I am so sorry to hear about Toby’s seizure.  How scary!!!  I hope that it was just a fluke and he doesn’t have to experience another one!

Here’s to a short week!

Great news for great people.  After all you guys have been through, you certainly deserve respite.  Yay for Baby Benny and Looney Tunes.

Marcia, what does the vet say about Toby?  Please keep us informed how he is doing.

Corrine - tell Benny he is so important that the whole nation had a holiday in celebration of his health report!  Kisses on that wrinkled head.

How does he keep his t-shirt on?  Whenever Abby wears one, they slide off of her shoulders and then she just steps out of it!

Since the incision is so big, does that mean the tumor was very large or was that to make sure they got all the margins also?  How cruel to not even know these things are there.  Will he be on chemo or meds to hopefully prevent any more of this?

Gina asked about grades and margins.  I found a really helpful site on Mast Cell Tumors at PetEducation.com (a Drs. Foster & Smith site) that explains the significance of it.  “Grading” explains the likelihood of malignancy and staging is the likelihood of their spreading. (The site, of course, explains it better.) Since Benny is in the middle on both, he’ll need the help of a lot of positive thinking on our parts so he gets back to full health.

By the way, whatever happened with all that mulch?

Awwwww, glad to hear both of the babies are doing better!

I will still contend though that Benny does NOT look pleased still.  Pugs are so pouty:D

Marcia - how frightening it is to see your baby with seizures.  Our Boxer Cooper has had them occasionally for 5 years or so (maybe one a month or every two months), but they have not been found to be indicative of anything in particular but upsetting to feel so helpless as they are happening.  We just hug him through it.

Thanks Heather and Sue. I called the Vet and the girl said if i brought him in, they would put him through all kinds of tests. Since he seemed to be fine, the office recommended that I wait and see if he has another one before they put him through all that. Plus, they don’t want to put him on any meds unless absolutely necessary. I kept a very close eye on him all week-end and he is back to normal. I looked on the web to see what could have caused this. Brain tumor? pesticides? Hopefully this is a one time incident. Thank you for caring.
