Resting Up

Henry

The pugs have been resting up this week, preparing themselves for a visit from G-Ma. They need to make sure they are well rested because it is exhausting being spoiled and eating all those extra treats that G-Ma is sure to bring. Plus, they had to get their G-Ma's day card this week. Tiring, tiring stuff. A pug's job is never done.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

The perfect activity for a very rainy day (at least it is here).  Maybe they are dreaming of a Mother’s Day surprise and working it out in their noggins!

Oh Babies….resting up is really a smart idea!!! I live with Grannie Pug and she can wear me out in a hurry!  HOWEVER when you live with GM the treats are measured out.

Just wanted to give a quick update on Charlie’s surgery.  We brought him home around 4:00 this afternoon and he is doing fine.  He has a long diagonal row of stitches, about 2 inches, I think, from his forehead all the way back around his left ear.  Thankfully, they didn’t have to remove his ear!  But you can tell he came close to losing it because the vet has it stiched so that, right now at least, its propped in a constant erect stance. OH and his forehead wrinkle is really noticeable because they had to shave it.

Anyway, he is back at my feet under the desk (must be a pug trait!) and is begging for a bite of my sandwich!  He goes back in 14 days to get the stiches out.  The receptionist said they probably wouldn’t have the results of the biopsy back before then so we’re just praying they got it all.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts today.  I could feel the love you all were sending and it really helped get me through the day.  Pug lovers are the absolute best.

Paula, know you are relieved that your Charlie came through the surgery just fine.  Waiting another 14 days I know is going to be agonizing, but there are a lot of prayers and good thoughts coming his way.  Please keep us informed, and give that baby hugs and kisses from me.

I hate to add another note of sadness to the emails of the past several days, but Cooper is failing rapidly and I doubt very seriously he will even have his second chemo on Monday.  It’s hard to look into those large, liquid-brown eyes that seem so confused as to what is happening to him and feel that just loving him is enough at the moment.  We go from denial to resignation and try to turn away from the inevitable.  Please pray that his transition is peaceful.

Pug Hug,

Oh Huckle, I am so sorry.  Of course Cooper is in my prayers.  Every night I pray for lost, sick, injured, abused and neglected animals.  Cooper will be especially remembered that he may pass peacefully.  Hang in there Huckle, we are here for you and your family.  Give him hugs and kisses from me please.  Sue VDB

Paula, I’m glad Charlie’s surgery went well.  It will be a long two weeks, waiting for the results, but we will keep you and Charlie in our thoughts and prayers.

Huckle, I’m so sorry that Cooper has taken a turn for the worst.  We will be praying for you both as well.  Our thoughts are with you.
