Listen to the adventures of Picadou the Pug

The Essential Francisco Sosa or, Picadou Mexico City“The Essential Francisco Sosa or, Picadou’s Mexico City” is an audio CD that makes for a perfect summer listen.  Narrated by author C.M. Mayo, “The Essential Francisco Sosa, or Picadou’s Mexico City” is a vivid account of one of the author’s walks through Coyoacán in Mexico City with her pug Picadou.

Pug lovers can definitely relate to Mayo’s account, because several times on their walk passersby remark on just how cute Picadou is or they stop to pet the outgoing pug.  Any pug owner will surely tell you that taking your pug out for a walk and not having someone stop you or point and smile as they drive by is quite rare.

After listening to Mayo’s essay you will surely feel like you traveled to Mexico City.  Bits and pieces of the city’s heritage and culture are weaved throughout the narrative.  So if you can’t get away this summer be sure to let “The Essential Francisco Sosa or, Picadou’s Mexico City” take you off to Mexico City to meet the adorable Picadou the pug.

A Great Read - Marley & Me

I was at the airport recently waiting for a flight so I stopped into a bookstore in hopes to find something good to read to help pass the time. While browsing the shelves, I came across Marley & Me by John Grogan. I have heard a lot of good things about his book so I decided to buy it.

I made my way over to my gate, sat down and cracked open the book. I was only about 10 pages in when I found myself smirking and thinking to myself, “I know exactly what he is talking about!” By the time I boarded the plane and got settled with my inflight snack I was laughing out loud. Towards the end of my flight, there was a tear in my eye.

Marley & Me is a fantastic book that truly captures the ups and downs of life with a dog at your side. While Marley is not a pug, I found myself shaking my head numerous times easily relating to Marley’s many antics thinking to myself, “That sounds just like Benny” or “Henry did that just the other day!”

A great summer read!
