"Driveway time" the other night was super windy and Benny was loving life! Benny has always been driven by his nose and on windy days he will sit outside and smell the air for what seems like forever.
On this night, Benny found himself a nice shady spot and sniffed the air until his heart was content. I can only imagine all the different smells he picks up on on a windy day.
As a senior gentleman now, Benny loves it when the smells come to him rather than him going off to find all the smells. I think all that is missing from this picture is the cartoonish depiction of all the different smells wafting through the air.
Something like this.

Or better yet, something like this.

Benny used to sit like this from time to time when he was a pup, but as he has aged he sits side saddle more and more often. It must feel good on the ole joints.
I also want it to go on record that Benny is sitting in wet grass. It is almost impossible to get him to even walk in wet grass, but on this day, he threw caution to the wind and just plopped right down.

The big pillow is the place to be in the morning. After the pugs eat their breakfast they settle in for their first morning nap. If you didn't know better you would think this was the only bed in the house!

I worked a half a day from home recently and this was the scene in my office. All three were snoring at once. It was quite a productive afternoon for me!

Benjamin, Henry and Luna have always been big chewers. But as they have aged, their chewing habits have changed a bit. Instead of chewing everyday throughout the day, they go through chewing spurts instead. They might not touch a bone for a week, but then they chew nonstop for a few days.
Benjamin is on one of those chewing spurts right now and I don't think it is going to end until he completely chews all of this particular bully stick. Not only has he been chewing on this stick in the evenings, he has also been gnawing on it after lunch when Grammy comes to hang out with him. In fact, Grammy sent me this shot!

I have always said that Benny loves his routines and this video is even more proof that Benny operates on his own schedule. Grammy comes to see the pugs during the day and when she leaves she puts them to bed. Benjamin, Henry and Luna get a few hours of nap time in their crate before we get home from work. The pugs know when it is getting close to quitting time for us because they are always hear us come in. The other day I came home from work a little early (shortly after Grammy put the pugs to bed) and Benjamin was passed out! It was very clear that he wasn't expecting anyone to come home so early.

"Driveway Time" is my absolute favorite part of the day. During the week, driveway time happens right when I get home from work. Once I park in the garage, the pugs run out of the house to greet me (and to see if I happened to bring home anything yummy). After the greetings and the inspection of my car and lunch box, we just hang out in the driveway for a bit. It is the absolute best way to unwind!
