Silly Girl

Luna, Henry & Benjamin

Sometimes, when I look at Luna I just can’t help but laugh.  I mean this is her idea of comfy.

Sometimes I wonder if she does stuff like this just to make me laugh.

On your feet you lose your seat

But I want to lay there

Benjamin, being the creature of habit that he is, loves to sleep in a little bin that I have in my office.  To make things more comfy for him, I have put a dog pillow in there and even though it is a tight fit it is one of his favorite spots to sleep during the day.

The other day Henry beat Benny to the punch and claimed the bed for his own.  When Benny came in to claim his usual spot he was quite perterbed that Henry was already in it.  He sat at the foot of the bin and whined telling Henry that he would like him to move.  Henry didn’t budge and I told Benny sorry, but Henry was there first.  This did not sit well with Benny and the next thing I know, Benny makes a jump for it and plops himself down right on top of Henry.

Benny was hoping that Henry would become uncomfortable and leave his basket, but no such luck.  Henry stayed and Benny was forced to make himself comfortable around Henry.  No matter how hard he tried, Benny just couldn’t get comfortable.  But, never once did the thought cross his mind to go lay on one of the other two dog beds in my office.  Nope, this is Benny’s sleeping spot and where he sleeps everyday, so he would rather be uncomfortable than have to change his routine.

Bros

Benjamin & Henry

One of the things I was worried about when we adopted Luna was how the addition of a third pug would affect Benjamin &Henry’s relationship.  The boys, had been together everyday since they were 12 weeks old and not only were they very tight they were inseparable.

While things did change after we adopted little Luna, I am happy to say that the boys are as close as ever.  Sure, sometimes they have an extra cuddle buddy, but they don’t seem to mind and they still have that unique bond that will forever make them “my boys.”

I love you sunshine!

Benjamin worshiping the sun

Every morning, shortly after the dew dries on the grass, Benny goes out in the yard and sits on the bench that he is convinced we bought just for him.  He usually just sits there squinty eyed listening to the birds chirping, but on this morning there was a distinct smell of bacon in the air.  He just sat there, soaking up the rays, smelling and smelling the air.  Sunshine and bacon!  He was in heaven!

Things you can’t say to Baby Benny

Baby Benny

Like most pugs Benny is very alert and listens closely when you speak.  You might not even be speaking directly to him, but he always has an ear out listening to the words you are speaking.  This is all well and good, except for the fact that there are a few words that you can not say to Benny unless you really mean it.  Here are a few.

Hungry

Use this word in any sentence and Benjamin will not calm down until you feed him.  I think this all started because when him and Henry were pups I always asked them “Are you hungry?” before I fed them.  Why?  I don’t know.  The answer was always a resounding YES.  I must have asked them too many times because now you can’t even use the word hungry in any sentence without Benny thinking it is time to eat.

Breakfast, Dinner, Snack or Treat

Unless you are feeding Benny all of these words are off limit.  Say any of them and he automatically assumes it is feeding time.  It has gotten so bad that we had to start referring to things like our dinner as “D”.  We’ll say things like, “So what’s for D?”

Wanna

Benjamin assumes that any sentence that has the word wanna is a question and his answer is always YES.  This probably came from me asking them, “Do you wanna go for a walk?” or “Do you wanna go for a car ride?”  So if Benny hears the word “wanna” he automatically assumes he is going for a walk or a ride in the car.  Even if you ask him something like “Wanna get a bath?”  He still assumes he is going to do something fun.  He’s definitely an optimist.

What are your pug’s favorite words?
