Henry is the resident ear cleaner at our house. Rarely does a day go by that Henry does not inspect both Benjamin & Luna’s ears and if he finds anything he starts licking away. He is rather diligent and his hard work really pays off. It is rare that we ever need to clean Benjamin or Luna’s ears.
The only problem with Henry’s ear cleaning is he never flips Benjamin’s ear back into place. So after a good ear cleaning Benjamin is left looking like this.

Happy Halloween Everyone! This year the pugs are the 3 Little Pigs for Halloween. Henry piggy, the smart one has bricks added to his pig costume. Luna pig, next in line with brains has sticks added to her costume and poor Benjamin is the piggy that made his house of straw. We look forward to walking around the neighborhood early this evening and then opening the door for trick or treaters! Enjoy your holiday festivities!

Here is a picture of Benjamin sleeping in the extra chair in my office. I have told him that if he is not careful all the blood will rush to his head but he doesn’t listen. Can he possibly be comfortable this way? He finally picks his head up and then props it on the arm rest. Doesn’t seem to me like this position is much better. I guess it depends on your definition of comfort.

I keep a box on my desk for the cat to lay in so she will keep off my important papers as I work. Well, sometimes the dogs also like to lay in the box. There isn’t usually a problem until the cat wants her box back. Well, here Cupid & Benjamin are in the middle of a stand off. Benjamin’s case is basically: On your feet, lose your seat, cat! Cupid’s point is: You’re too big for my box, dog! Fortunately, they are pretty good about taking turns. Cupid decided to nap on the desk while waiting for her shot at the box.

Since the weather has been cooler, we have been able to get back to our normal walking routine and we have been able to get in a couple of long walks. We took a walk this weekend that was a little over 3.5 miles. I kept waiting for them to get tired, but they just kept trotting along showing no signs of slowing down. They had a great time and when we got home they still had enough energy for a game of chase! Most of our walks are only about a mile long, but about once a week we try to get in a long walk. All of them really seem to enjoy breaking up the normal walking routine with an extra long trek.
I love this time of the year because when the pugs are well exercised they are well behaved during the day when I am working. They don’t bark at every little noise and they are content to just nap until I am off work. It is amazing the difference a little bit of exercise makes.
This shot is of Benny napping while I am working. Benny is an extreme kind of guy. There is really no in between for him. He is either running and romping around the house or he is completely passed out. At almost 5 years old he is still a bundle of energy. Its just now his bursts are a little bit shorter than they were when he was a pup.

October is breast cancer awareness month and Benjamin, Henry & Luna thought they would show their support with their new Bark For a Cure t-shirts. Luna loves to prance around in anything pink so she was quite happy with her new shirt. The boys on the other hand, weren’t so happy with their new pink duds. But after I explained things to them, they decided they were manly enough to sport their new pink shirts.

After months of daily reminders not to steal any Cheerios from my cereal bowl in the morning, I think Baby Benny has finally learned some manners. His new routine is to jump up in my seat and catch a little nap until I am ready to sit down. Then when I go to sit down, the seat is toasty warm. Such a considerate little pug!
