The Princess

Luna

As sure as I am that a work from home day will be filled with Benny snores, I am also certain that no work from home day would be complete without Luna climbing her mound of dog beds and taking a nap.

The pugs have a lot of dog beds, but we are not to the point where we need to start stacking them on top of each other. One day, I was vacuuming and I threw the dog beds in a pile in my office to make less things to vacuum around. When I returned to my office to put everything away, I found Luna sleeping soundly on top of the heap. Since she liked the mound of beds so much, we left them like that.

Gotcha Day Celebrations

Luna

We didn't celebrate with the bunless Big Mac that Luna has been wanting since we rescued her, but we did have some special frozen custard. After dinner, we went to one of our favorite ice cream shops and got a special doggie dish of frozen custard. We got a big scoop of banana for the pugs to share and it came topped with a milk bone.

When we split the ice cream for the pugs, we never put the milk bone in the bowl. We usually save it for later. Henry, however, knows that the ice cream comes with a milk bone and after he finishes his ice cream, he always comes to beg for the milk bone. He usually ends up with the whole bone to himself because Benjamin is off licking every drop of ice cream out of the bowls and Luna is too busy chasing her ice cream around the bowl. Like anything else she eats, Luna inevitably ends up with her ice cream all over her face.

Happy Gotcha Day, Luna!

Luna

8 years ago today we adopted Luna. She was two when we adopted her, so today we are celebrating her double digit milestone.

Luna is the most loyal dog I have ever met. All dogs are faithful companions, but Luna will endure anything to be with her peeps. If we are outside hanging by the pool on a summer day, Luna with be right beside us panting away. Whereas, Benny will give up on us and go in the house and wait for us to come back inside. Leave the house to get the mail? Luna will wait by the door the entire time. Get caught up talking to a neighbor while getting the mail? Luna will still be waiting by the door. Wherever her people are, that is where Luna wants to be.

And I feel the same way. Wherever I am that is where I want Luna to be. It may seem silly, but I have learned a lot about life from Luna.

Happy Gotcha Day, sweet Luna!

College Try

Luna

Luna's back and neck issues keep her from going on long walks. We have been trying to find her a comfortable mode of transportation when she tires out so that she can go out with Benny and Henry. Sol, wasn't able to walk very far, but she went on every walk with us because she LOVED riding in the pouch. Luna, has never been a fan of the pouch, but now that her back is bothering her a bit more she is willing to give it another try. We used it last weekend and once she found a comfortable way to sit she seemed pretty content. We'll see if she can learn to love the pouch.

Paws Up

Luna

There is no denying that Luna was working her cuteness in this pic, but when I saw her looking all adorable I said, "Girl, you need your toenails cut!" Needless to say that wasn't something she wanted to hear.

House Dweller

Luna

Luna has earned herself a new nickname - house dweller. Over the past few weeks, her routine has been to go outside to go potty and then come straight back into the house. And she doesn't mosey back into the house, she high tails it. Like a woman on a mission.

The boys are taking advantage of the easy FL winters and are spending some time hanging out in the yard. They have been laying in the sun and taking some extra time to smell around.

Luna, on the other hand, seems to think the winter has been pretty harsh. I tried to tell her that things here have been pretty great as far as winters go. I reminded her of her recent trip to MD and told her that they now have cold white stuff covering the ground, but it doesn't seem to change her opinion any. As far as she is concerned it has been like living in Antarctica the last few weeks. Care to tell Luna how cold it is in your neck of the woods?

In the Bag

It appears that Luna has her naughty list nomination in the bag. I was scooping the kibble from the bag into storage containers when Luna decided to inspect it to make sure I didn't miss any kibbles.
