Island Adventure - Dog Park

When we arrived at the dog park, the pugs had the park all to themselves. That didn't bother them, though. They spent some time getting to know all the friends that visited the dog park before them by smelling every inch of the park.

The pugs were also very intrigued by the water bowl at the park. It was so big that at first they weren't sure if it was a water bowl or a swimming pool.

Island Adventure

Sunday morning we took the pugs to a new dog park that opened in a local park that is located on a little island. The pugs were thrilled to go to a new place. Before we went into the dog park, we walked the trail that meanders around the edge of the island. There was a floating boat dock that the pugs were excited to explore. After Benjamin, Henry and Luna finished sniffing around the dock, they were anxious to get to the dog park and check it out.

Is that all you got?

Apparently Henry is not impressed with the distance of this walk. A half a mile? Psssht!

Henry could do 3 or 4 laps around this lake, but he won't. He is too stubborn to walk somewhere he has already been.

He has been this way since he was a pup. We have to be very careful how we plan our walks because if the route requires us to double back at any point, Henry will simply sit down and refuse to walk.

So when we go to this park, we do one lap and then find some side paths to keep Hank interested.

Sunset Walk

The weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend. The pugs took full advantage of the nice weather and on Saturday evening we went to one of our favorite parks. And by chance we just happened to be there at sunset.

Extra Tired

For the pugs, FL living means they do things backwards. They practically hibernate in the summer because of the heat and they play all winter.

For Benjamin, Henry & Luna, Fall in Florida is an in between season. Some days it is still to hot for them to go out and do much and some days are perfect pug days. We have had a few perfect pug evenings recently and when the weather is right we always jump on the chance to take a long walk or head to a park. Since the pugs have been hibernating all summer they are super excited to get out and about, but they are still getting used to the extra activity. Therefore, we have had some pretty tuckered pugs on our hands.

Trading Spaces

A year ago, Benjamin was relaxing in a chair in the Smokey Mountains, enjoying the crisp mountain air and playing in piles of leaves like he did when he was a puppy.

This year, he traded his seat in the mountains for a lounge chair by the pool.

Both very different, but both are still great seats.

Distractions

To try and take our minds off things, we took the pugs to a local park in the evening for a little fun. Luckily the weather cooperated with us and it wasn't too hot.

We are getting a bit more anxious for the results because Luna is still peeing blood after being on the antibiotics for several days. Still hoping though.
