Henry still isn't crazy about the stroller, but he is starting to learn to like it. If he is tired enough he will concede and agree to ride in it. Of course he would rather be carried than pushed, but he is way too heavy to be carried any real distance. It's a slow process, but Henry is learning to like the stroller.

A cold front rolled in last Sunday and brought us a lovely day of mid 70° weather. There was no way we were not going to take advantage of such pug friendly weather. So, we suited Henry up and took him for a walk at one of our favorite parks. It was a great Sunday walk and was the perfect mini adventure for Henry before his 3rd chemo treatment the next day.

To help Henry get ready to go to work with me, we have been practicing going up and down stairs. Whenever we come across a set of stairs we make Henry climb them. He's always hesitant at first, but then he eventually comes around and works his way up them.

And once he is up them, there is always the task of getting back down them. Which to me is the scarier part, but not for Henry. He goes down the steps much faster than he goes up the steps for some reason.

And whenever we get to a set of stairs, I like to remind Henry that he lived in a 3 story house for the first 2 years of his life. Henry and Benjamin used to race up and down the stairs like wild men. They would chase, push and pummel and do all kinds of unsafe things on the stairs. But, after almost 10 years of Florida living and rarely encountering stairs, Henry seems to have forgotten all about his stair adventures as a young pug.

Henry has always loved the beach, so we thought we would take him over one evening for a bit of fun. We almost never go to the beach during the summer. It is just too hot for the pugs to have any fun. But, Henry handles the heat a lot better than Benjamin and Luna did and an afternoon storm had just rolled through and cooled things off so we thought we would give a quick trip to the beach a go.

Except for one other dog playing fetch, we had the whole beach to ourselves. And that dog was so involved in his game of fetch that he didn't even notice us. Henry got his feet wet and strolled along for a bit. Then, the weather turned on us and big storm started heading our way. We high tailed it to the car. The weather cut our trip a bit short, but it was fun nonetheless.

Every year, Henry gets a special outing all to himself to the Bark at the Park game for the Daytona Cubs. We were all set to go to the game on Friday, and we were even halfway there, when we found out that the game had been rained out. Not wanting to disappoint Henry, we came up with a quick plan B and headed to Petsmart. He hadn't been to the store in a long time so we let him pick out some new chewies for himself. And then we made him pick some out for Benny and Luna
He was even kind enough to pick out a new toy for Cupid. Looks like he scored a pretty good bit of loot!

Well, look who I found sitting in the shade! The sun loving pug!
The weather has been so gorgeous that we have had a hard time getting Henry to come in the house. The sun is getting a bit stronger so Henry lays in the sun for a bit, then moves to the shade, then moves back to the sun. Benjamin and Luna are such polar opposites of Henry that we have taken to calling them the house dwellers. They go outside, go potty and then want to go right back in. If the weather is nice enough Benjamin can be persuaded to spend a little time outside, but not Luna. She wants no parts of the great outdoors.

We put the stroller to the test again last week when we took the pugs out for a walk. Like last time, we started with an empty stroller and let Luna and Benjamin take a ride whenever they tuckered out. I took some video of the walk. From the clip, it doesn't seem like the walk was very long, but I edited it down to keep from boring everyone. Luna walked much farther than the clip indicates
