Pug Duties

Benjamin

One of Benjamin's duties as a pug is to supervise the weekly dog food prep. On weeks when I have to cook the turkey the process takes quite a bit of time and it can be quite exhausting to a pug. So Benny, always picks one of the black rugs to take a little cat nap on while I slave away. Unfortunately, the rugs are all positioned in front of places that I need access to while I'm working. One is in front of the stove, one in front of the fridge and one in front of the sink.

So, I tried a little experiment, and I moved one of Benny's dog beds into the kitchen to see if he would monitor me from there. Worked like a charm!

Benjamin

As you can see Benjamin is pretty bored by the whole process. His feedback is that I need to cut the prep time by 99% and give him half of the prepped food as soon as it is done being prepared.

Famished

Luna

When I said Luna was suffering from steroid induced hunger pangs I wasn't kidding. The other morning she took a page out of Cupid's book and camped out on her placemat waiting for more food. As you can see from the empty food bowls, they had just finished eating their breakfast!

Style Points

Luna

Since turning 11, Benny has been having a bit of a mid pug life crisis and has been chewing incessantly. It's like he needs to prove to himself that he can still chew as much as he did when he was a pup. As a result, he has been digging every bone out of the toy box. He even drug out this old knuckle bone and was chewing it for a bit. Which is super surprising because once the pugs work all the good stuff off a knuckle bone they generally have no interest in it.

After Benny finished chewing, he abandoned the bone in one of the dog beds and Luna happily had a turn chewing the ginormous bone. But, in true Luna form, she did it with style!

Pumpkin Ice Cream

One little pug did not like their pumpkin ice cream. Can you guess which one? (Answer on Wednesday).

Thanks, Gina!

Benjamin

Last week, we received a care package in the mail from Gina. When I got back from the mailbox, I let the pugs know that they got a surprise in the mailbox. They inspected the package and were very anxious for me to open it up.

Inside, was a huge bag of Grandma Lucy's Pumpkin Organic Baked dog treats. The pugs couldn't wait for me to get the bag open. Needless to say, they loved the pumpkin treats! LOVED THEM! (Gina, have you got these for Bella before? When I opened the bag, they smelled so good, that I thought about trying them myself. wink)

Henry

Luna

Cupid

Not only did Gina send the pugs treats, she also included goodies for Cupid. So far, Cupid's favorite treat has been the Primal Freeze Dried Chicken and Salmon.

Thank you Gina for the awesome treats. You made the pugs' and Cupid's day!

Mixed Veggies are Not a Hit

Benjamin

This veggie special in the dog bowls this week was mixed vegetables. It did not go over well with Benny.

At each meal he flung his veggies out of his bowl so that he could get to the good stuff.

Benjamin

But, we didn't let him leave the table without eating his vegetables. We made sure he cleaned his bowl and his placemat before we let him go off and play.
