This Sunday the pugs went 5 rounds with beauty.
- Round 1: Toenail clipping and grinding
- Round 2: A Good Teeth Brushing
- Round 3: Brushing with the Zoom Groom
- Round 4: Wrinkle & Ear Cleaning
- Round 5: A Bath
Little Luna was the last to get a bath and too celebrate we gave her a fur hawk. Needless to say she wasn’t thrilled!

The boys were kind enough to let me take some pictures of them modeling the new bow tie collars that we just got into the shop. While I snapped some pictures Luna pitched a fit because she wasn’t included. I really wanted to include Luna with a little bow tie of her own, but she is far too wiggly. The girl just can’t sit still. And when she is wiggling around, she makes Benjamin & Henry move around. Plus, being the diva that she is, she demands to be paid before, after and during the shoot. When that is not at all what the contract states. 10% of the treats are awarded up front and the remaining portion is awarded when the project is complete. She simply will not agree to those terms!
The boys are such pros at sitting and getting their picture taken that towards the end, I usually have a hard time getting shots with their eyes open. They become far too relaxed and they fall asleep on me.

They know the routine. Sit still, look cute and then we will be handsomely rewarded.

If he had to stand on his head to get the peanut butter out of that Kong he would. He will get every last bit.

Sitting still for a change.
Photographing Luna is no easy task. As soon as the thought even crosses your mind that you should snap a picture of her, she inevitably moves. It is like she wants no proof of her cute or silly behavior. This is probably how most dogs behave, but I have been really spoiled with the boys. Both of them love to mug for the camera and you can stick the camera right in their face and they will not budge. I can hover, lean, poke and pry and they just ignore me. Which makes it really easy to photograph them.
Luna also has a super dark face which turns out too dark in lots of photographs. I almost always have to lighten her photographs so that you can see the detail in her face.
All things considered, though, she has improved a lot since we first adopted her. When we first brought her home, it took a couple of months for me to get a half way decent shot of her.
She is such a sweetie and I try so hard to capture that, but most of the time she just comes out looking like one big blur.

Here’s an up close and personal shot of Benjamin. Can’t wait to read your captions in the comments!

It turns out that Benjamin has been sharpening his modeling skills since he was a pup. Last week, I posted about him Striking a Pose and as I was going through some photographs this weekend, I saw one from when he was a puppy with that same over the shoulder glance.
He should be a pro by now.

The stockings were hung from the entertainment center with care…
We don’t have a fireplace, so each year we carefully hang the stockings from the entertainment center. When we built the house, we still had northern blood and we thought including a fireplace in the house was just the funniest thing. Why on earth would people in Florida need a fireplace, we laughed. Now that we have acclimated a bit, and anything under 70 degrees seems pretty chilly, there have been nights when we have thought that fireplace might come in handy.
In any case, the entertainment center has served us well and proudly displays everyone’s stockings. Leading up to Christmas, we tuck any little presents that we pick up into the stockings. However, treats do not go into the stockings until Christmas morning. We wouldn’t want Baby Benny to get a crick in his neck from staring up at the stockings willing the treats to come to him.
