Last night I drew the two lucky winners for the OBP Raffle! Before I announce the winners I want to express once again how grateful I am to everyone who participated. Because of your generosity we raised $498 for Compassionate Pug Rescue! I think that is fantastic!
So, without further ado, here are the winning raffle ticket numbers:
1st: 7200831
2nd: 7200868
I have contacted the winners via e-mail and as soon as I hear back from them I will get their prizes sent out in the mail.
Thanks again everyone for participating! Looney would also like to thank everyone for helping out the pugs. She knows firsthand the difference a little TLC can make!
For productivity’s sake, I had to stop letting the pugs sit on my lap when I am working. It isn’t so bad when there is just one, but when there is three, well that is a different story.
So to break the news to the pugs, I set out to find them a more comfortable alternative to my lap. Little Luna has taken a liking to sleeping in a little round bed on my desk. I think she likes the fact, that she has the softness of her bed and still gets to be on the desk. She does a good job of staying in the bed too, so I don’t have to worry about her roaming around and causing any trouble, ahem, Benny.
She knows that it is her spot too! As soon as I put the bed on the desk, she is right at my feet waiting for me to pick her up. She circles once or twice and then plops herself down. She gets to be cozy and is only a few inches away from me - a win win for us both.
Here is a little video from this weekend’s swimming fun. Henry just loves to pull anything out of the pool and he has gotten quite brave and now leaps into the water without hesitation. A few things to note in the video. Notice when Henry jumps into the pool how Benjamin and Luna bark at him. You can see Luna watching him very closely from land. Also, I love how little Luna blocks Henry from getting out of the pool on the first try. That’s what he gets for showing off!
The last time that we took the pugs canoeing, Benny’s life jacket pretty much fell apart while we were there. Since Benny isn’t much of a swimmer we didn’t replace his vest until this weekend. We have been thinking about taking the pugs on another early morning canoe outing and we wanted Benny to have a new life jacket to have on the boat with us.
We also made him test it out in the pool on Sunday. Gotta make sure it works, Benny!
Since we started talking about the scars on Luna’s back in the comments of yesterday’s post, I thought I would post a picture of Luna’s little, bare chest. I’m not sure if you can tell simply by looking at photos, but the skin on Luna’s chest is quite soft. On her back, the skin, where she is missing fur, is much thicker and firmer (hence scars). For some reason, the hair on Luna’s chest has never really grown back in after she was treated for mange. It is odd, because I have seen dogs that have had mange and are missing all kinds of fur and once they get everything treated their fur grows in as good as new. The dermatologist can’t say why Luna’s fur hasn’t grown back on her chest, but they tell us she is no worse for the wear. Right about now, I think her lack of fur gives her an advantage over the boys in this FL heat.
