Beach Day

Benjamin, Henry and Luna

Saturday was a perfect pug weather day, so we decided to take the pugs to the beach. It has been a while since we have been to the beach, so as soon as we turned into the parking lot the pugs started barking their heads off in excitement. Needless to say, we were not sneaking up on anyone.

Since it was a beautiful day the beach was packed! Lots of dogs and lots of people. The pugs made some new friends and made sure to get a sandy mess. Which to me, just means they had a good time!

I will be sure to share some pictures of the friends the pugs made, but here are a few of Benjamin, Henry and Luna in action.

Benjamin and Henry

To say the pugs had sand from head to tail would be and understatement. As you can see, Henry is not shy about plopping his keester right in the sand. And what is a story about a pug trip to the beach that does not include a picture of Benny mid shake.

Luna

Luna surprised us all by actually getting her paws wet this trip. She was in and out of the water and up and down the beach. I think she had the best time of them all.

Look at the smiles on their faces.  Obviously they love the beach.  What puggie wouldn’t?

Looking forward to seeing your new beach friends.

Jadey, Corey and I are TOTALLY jealous!  Jade has reverted to pottying int he house as she HATES the snow and refuses to potty on it.  *sigh*  We miss the beach!

It is these glorious Beach Day OBP stories that make me start packing the boys’ bones and wanting to head to warmer pastures!!  They look like they are having the most wonderful time, can’t wait to see more of the adventures with their new friends!

As for me…ummm, I have the feeling that I am supposed to be somewhere but really, no one is looking for me.  Day #1 of unemployment.  *gulp*

Pug love and snorts to all!

Nothing more heart-warming than seeing happy pugs - excited to be in their element.  Far from a beach - Bella was tearing up the snow in our yard this weekend, making crazy pug-circles and grabbing mouthfuls of the stuff as she went.  While it’s easier drying off the snow than washing off the sand - still envy H,B & L the beach and mild temps.  We awoke to some freezing rain from overnite - although not as dire (thankfully) as the weather trailers were predicting as I was trying to enjoy PRIME SUSPECT and THE GOOD WIFE last night.  Thank goodness for “T-VO” as it became quite distracting . . . talking about loss of electric with ice and wind.  Yeah - the older I get - I’d take the beach in January.  But Bella, at least, had fun with the white stuff through the weekend.
CORRINE:  You DO capture so much personality in your pictures.  I know that cats prefer their home territories - but wonder:  Does Cupid give you guys a real sniff-over when you come back from your outings?

Oh my goodness this is a lovely set of pictures. Looks like the pugs had a grand time. I, too, can’t wait to see the pics of the friends they made.

It was snowing here in Omaha last night and Bella didn’t know what to think of it. But the pug who doesn’t pee, actually peed in the midst of the falling snow! I was a very happy pug mommy. Of course this morning, no can do! Silly pug.

Good to see you on here Heather. smile

Pug Hugs from Bella & me!

Benny looks like he just told a very funny joke and just couldn’t stop laughing.  Henry, not so much.  Luna looks like she has her mojo on.

Jennifer, I know your potty issue.  We have the problem quite often, but it doesn’t have to be snow.  One of them just lets fly.  However, that one is NOT a pug.

Corrine, ask yourself, is it nice to tease OBPers above the Mason-Dixon Line with BEACH pictures at the same time we were having snowstorm issues?

Georgie has found a new pastime.  He will sit on Gracie’s back (I’d like to see him try that with Abby!) and lick and lick and lick.  The other day, I noticed a white spot on Gracie’s back where I assumed he’d licked the fur off but it didn’t seem to bother Gracie.  (It certainly didn’t bother Abby.) I didn’t pick her up to investigate further because I was working on a load of washing. It wasn’t going to get bigger in the next 30 minutes so I just finished what I was doing.  Now a new problem with Georgie and one I wasn’t sure of what to do about it.  I didn’t want it to get bigger so I guess I’d just have to police Georgie.

When I did get to sit down, Gracie jumped into my lap as always.  Now I had a chance to investigate her skin (or lack thereof) further.  Somehow, what I had perceived as a potential sore for Gracie turned out to be a spot of gravy (?) on her back as I scraped away.  Talk about jumping to conclusions.  Prime example.

Georgie has had enough to deal with lately (so, yes, I would have excused him licking Gracie’s whole body clean of fur) with his return to goose honking.  He has also developed squeaks of the gaseous kind whenever he started honking. “Ahem, squeaky (as in squeaky toy)farts.” While his were similar to Gracie’s noises last month, hers were not accompanied by “smellivision”. His cleared the room.  How could a little guy like that smell that bad?

Time is getting closer Hellen…yea!

What a fun day you had!  I love seeing pictures of the three “beach babies”!

(Did anybody else hear Beach Boys music while looking at the pictures of Henry, Benjamin and Luna?)

Beach Days in January!  I wish I was there.  Today I cannot seem to warm up, although the beach pictures helped alot!
Thinking of you Heather, I am sure your resourcefulness will net something soon.

Hellen, thinking of you and counting the days!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, spring seems far away right now, it was actually too cold to get a decent walk in, someone’s lil paw-paws got cold fast.
