aaww ...it’s “Charlie Brown’s Tree”... looks like Henry is taking a nap “under” the tree.

...not a creature was stirring, not even the pug.. while visions of pugkin bread danced in his head…

Oh, good lord, he ate the tree!

Took Abby to vet yesterday because she had this white pimple-like thing on her head.  Seems to be something on the order of an ingrown hair.  Relief. Anyone have this kind of thing on your Pugs? I did ask him about Georgie’s feet licking behavior.  He did say it might be allergies, very hard to define which, but if it is a seasonal allergy, you have to wait up to a month for the allergen to leave the system.  It could also be a food allergy, but it’s hard to pin down even with the test (removal of some skin) they have that is not even all that reliable.  It’ll be wait and see.  No real problem unless he causes himself sores.

It’s 10 degrees here, anyone colder?

I’m waiting under the mistletoe for someone to kiss me.  Wait a moment!  You mean this isn’t mistletoe?  Oh well; I’m too tired from keeping track of all of the Christmas preparations in the kitchen to move.

I love Charlie Brown! I have that little tree too! Henry is so cute.

Huckle~I am discussing Pip’s allergies today with his vet. He thinks we need to change foods which I’m all for. Good Luck to you!

It’s a Henry Pug Christmas.

Huckle, whenever the pollens and allergence are out Romeo does a lot of paw licking.  Now that we have had a hard freeze, he no longer does it.

I want to thank you all for your kind words, sentiments, and thoughts for me as I deal with the first year without my RiRi on his birthday…They mean the world…Such a hard, hard time.  Doesn’t ever get easier…

Everyone go snuggle in a pug pile, that’s an order!!

Stay warm!

Henry, have you saved on my desktop.  As I was giving you a once over before I sign off for the night, I am again amazed at your light colored nails.  All of my pugs had dark nails and a nightmare to cut. Yours look very easy to cut.  Good night sweet boy.

Huckle

12/15/2010

Gina,
Let me know re vet as to the foods you are changing to.  Georgie’s vet said there was a whole long list of things, the usual soy, wheat, etc. to cut out if this continued and even, possibly a vet diet which wouldn’t be cheap.  We spend a lot for “good” food now so I can only imagine.

Good luck right back with Pip.  Who knew (when we were kids) that owning dogs could be so complicated.  But well worth it.  I love them to death.

Huckle my Emma has allergies so the vet suggested try to change her food first which I did she is on one that has no grains in it it has fruits and pumpkin its by natures natural I think she is doing very well with it also Blue wilderness puts one out with no grain and I think wellness does also my Annabelle is on hills science ZD perscription it is a allergy food only sold at the vets 33.00 for a eight pound bag I don’t know if this will help Sue

Huckle, Wellness has a grain free dog food called Core.  I have Romeo, Minnie and Missy on Wellness SuperMix5 senior food, but I understand the Core is an excellent food for dogs with food allergies.

MOM…..is this thing for real? I have been good…mostly!!!! Maybe this is part of a new outfit you are making for me???

Hang in there sweet boy…there will be lots of pumkin bead and other treats for you.

Huckle

12/16/2010

Sue, is the Blue wilderness, Blue Buffalo or are they different brands?  I give Wellness Core when I give canned food switching them back and forth from ground turkey, lamb or beef.  Wish I could pinpoint when this paw licking first became noticeable, it might help me narrow down what Georgie might be allergic to.  Thanks all for your suggestions.

I have to admit I’m feeling close to a panic attack because we haven’t heard from Corrine this morning.  It’s probably nothing more than faulty equipment on her end but it is unsettling.

Huckle

sue

12/16/2010

Huckle it is Blue Buffalo but its called wilderness and it dosent have any grains in it its on the exspensive side but suppose to be top of the line food but so is wellness I would love to feed my gang the blue wilderness but cant afford it with nine dogs to feed but Emma has allergies and she licks her paws and scratches her tummy raw so I switched her to the natures natural it has no grains and has pumkin and fruits and vegetables it seems to be working so far hope you find something to help Georgie

Huckle

12/16/2010

Sue - yes that Blue Buffalo Wilderness is what they get mixed up with whatever wet ingredients I use as well.  But they do get other things here or there which might hamper the effectiveness of the dry.

Now is Natures Natural another dog food you’ve used?

You have 9 dogs?  How do you cope.  That’s amazing and I bet a lot of fun at times although I wouldn’t want to be on poop duty for that gang.  Are they all different breeds?

I’m thinking Corrine’s site might be down for surely we would have heard something from her by now.  But, it makes me nervous not to hear from her.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog! I have been wanting to buy a pug for some time, but I am going to wait for summer to come around to spend time with it! I came to your blog hoping to learn about the lifestyle with pugs and I have learned so much! Thank you much!

Hannah J, welcome to OBP.  I think we are a fantastic group of people who share our love of pugs, and we are always there for each other, and we owe all of this to Corrine and the antics of Benjamin, Henry and Luna.  If any of us needs help, we are there for each other.

Hanna J, I hope you can get your Pug soon.  You sound like you are ready.  They are so adorable when they are babies.  Cooper weighed 4 lbs. 9 oz. when we were able to bring him home, and he was the sweetest little guy we had ever seen.  He loved us immediately and we him. The are Puppies, so there must be training involved, but you will not regret it.  The people on her are fabulous and there for us all.

Welcome aboard, dear one. Hugs,  Elizabeth and Mini Anderson Cooper in NY~

SueVBD,
Thank you so much for the kind welcome. Just got a whole whack of baby pics of Kaylee Dawne from “grandma Sandra” thier all so adorable. Kaylee has a “brother” that is a Pug/Boxer named Blaze Charles and an older “sister” that is also a pug,her name is Karmin Elizabeth although she mostly gets called “Minnie”. Minnie was the reason we got another pug. Our son bought Minnie for us for Christmas in 2007,because he knew that Keith(the Hubby) and I wanted one for a really long time. Haven’t looked back since!! I would get another pug in a New York minute.I wouldn’t want any other kind of dog. Hanna I wish you lots of love and luck in getting your first pug, trust me; You won’t ever look back either and please let us all know when he/she arrives we look forward to hearing about it. When we got Blaze,Karmin and Kaylee we sent out “birth announcements”

What do we do until Thurs. when Corrine returns?  Could be some serious withdrawals here!  I hope she’s on a vacation and really enjoying herself.  She certainly has kept all of us entertained and informed for an awfully long time, kept us together through happiness and sadness in her life and in ours, and helped us all to bond due to our love of PUGS!
