Patiently waiting . . . First “on deck” is Boom-Boom Benny.

HELLEN:  Just a thought - but a friend had her Yorkie stolen awhile back - and it turned out it was someone who lived on her block.  You might do some neighborhood snooping, or just openly canvass your neighbors.  Her kids spotted their dog and they called the police.  Ended up taking the dog-nappers to court -but they got their dog back.

I had someone come right up on my front step one Saturday afternoon to pet my big, grey tomcat.  I was at the door in a flash, but I never “bought” the story he only wanted to pet him.  His mother was sitting at the curb in their car, too.  I think Tomas would’ve put up a fight - but still, it makes me crazy to think of people taking other people’s pets.  I’m still praying you will get your chi-baby back.  Maybe you need to adopt a guard dog as well!

Pugs:  Yes, we’re reporting in for duty.  We hear that there is an excess of steak scraps cluttering this kitchen and we’re here to correct the problem!  Ready anytime you are…........yessssssssss

I think Benny needs to go to the end of the line…aren’t those a few EXTRA wrinkles toward the back of him?  Obviously he is not starving.  “Boom-Boom Benny” hilarious Mary and very well spoken.

Mary - that is so scary that they would do that even in daylight.  What is wrong with people?

When we lived in the country one Christmas season, we had this large, white dog show up at our door.  No tags, no collar, nothing.  We took her in, of course, called around but no one would claim her.  We called her Noel.  She was given to epileptic fits, loose bowels, inability to control her actions when that happened.  We figured we knew why she’s shown up, obviously dumped.  Later the next year, the dogs were all out for their nightly visit before bed and my husband heard a car door, looked out and saw nothing.  We never saw Noel again and just prayed that she’d found a good home, but what were the chances with such thieves.  There are so many good people in the world and then there are people like that.  I guess we put our concentration on the good.

Mary, you were lucky to be so vigilant. Yea for Tomas!

Today was toenail cutting day for the pugs. I learned early on to take them out to get that done! Kudos to you that cut your own. Today, after the groomer cut the nails, she used a dremel tool to file them down (how she did that with Abby I haven’t a clue), kind of squared them off after cutting.  They look really different that way and I was wondering if anyone else had that done and what you thought about it.  Maybe it will take them longer to start curling?

Late today, but just had to add my gushing over the dynamic trio.  They all look quite serious in this picture…better not scrap on the scraps distribution, mom!

HUCKLE:  Bella’s nails are a nightmare and it’s like roping a steer for branding when I take her to the vet’s to have it done.  Takes 2 of us to hold (in relief shifts) while the vet cuts them.  In fact, he’s advocated that she be sedated a couple of times to try and get a closer job done.  Otherwise, I’m taking her in every 3-4 weeks.  But I had purchaesd a “Peti-cure” tool awhile back - the heavy-duty model as she has thick, black toenails.  I never really gave a good try and loaned it out to a friend for her boxer.  But I got it back recently and have managed to get one or two nails a night filed down to help them from curling into her feet and to give us a little longer in-between vet trims.  If I don’t “rev” it up too high, but keep it a lower “purr” she’ll sit through one or two nails a go.  I’ve read that pugs are notorious for their nails and now I know why.  They’re like bear claws!!!  I tried to cut them at home - with another person there to hold while I cut or vice-versa - but I was in jeopardy of losing friends coming over - so now Bella gets the pedicures and I do my own at home, and being of bad vision and ever-expanding girth:  let me tell you, it’s no picnic to do my own!!

These guys look like they are hoping Mom drops something really good and bite size!!!

My daughter and grandson have gone door to door passing out flyers with Peanuts picture on it. There is a picture in every vets office in a hundred mile ridus. My daughter Karen drives around the whole area, up and down streets at least twice a day looking out for him. I am sick with worry because he is si little, only four lbs, and scared todeath somewhere. He canot be used for breeding…that problem was fixed the day after we got him.

Someone has offered me a beautiful fawn pug…really thing of getting her. When you are use to waking up during the night and no one is asleep on the doggie beds it is really hard.

Here come the tears again. Love you all and thanks for sharing your bbies with me.

Also, HUCKLE:  You broke my heart with your Noel story. Just gotta send up extra prayers for these special babes that they have their own, personal animal angels who ride their shoulders and lick their ears and keep them from being scared.

pug mama

09/27/2011

gosh, pugs, are you STIIIILLLLLLLLLL waiting for your treat??????  Poor babies!!!!

Abby “slightly” tolerates the pedipaws tool on her front feet, but not at all on her back feet.  Regular toe nail clippers she screams, and when she was a pup, was known to defecate it stressed her out so badly.  The best thing for her is to save up my money to get a sedated nail trim with the vet.

Hello everyone! I am late in the day too. Love this picture. No cute comments come to mind! But they are all adorable.

It takes my Dad to hold Pip, my husband to hold Pip’s head so he doesn’t try to bite me. And he isn’t a biter! You should see what the girls do to him that he just puts up with! Anyway, then I have to cut his nails. So funny.

Hellen ~ I cannot tell you how often I think of you and Peanut through out the day. I pray every night for you and your family and for Peanuts safe return. Maybe getting the fawn female pug would be good for you. I’m so sad to think of you waking with no dogs. Maybe if someone does have Peanut, they are loving him so much that they aren’t returning him. I know it sounds selfish and it is! But maybe if you think of him being loved and cared for, it might make it easier. I’m so sorry Hellen. Sending lots of hugs to you and even more prayers!!!

What do you mean we are over parked?  We do not own a car
just a large old motor home. We need room to play and sleep. Yes we have a pool table. Do you want to play?
$50.00 TO BEGIN WITH the first game. We finish up with a $1,000.00 game. Yes we cheat we do not like to lose.
Chatting with the pugs.

Helen I am thinking of you and still hoping peanut comes home only you will know if its right to get this little pug but maybe it will help you sending a hug your way

Grannie Pug, I hope you feel our love.

In commenting to Mary’s remark, I was not thinking when I mentioned Noel.  It was ill-timed and I was not thinking.  I’m sorry I did that.

Like Gina, I’m going for the love factor, too.  At least Peanut was not hit by a car so that’s a positive.  Some day when the kidnapers get careless and go outside with him, someone (including family members) will see him and realize who he is.  I have hope.

I say the Pug, Benny, is on the scale at the Vet and is saying,“Come on you guys, get away from the scales.  You are tipping them so I will weigh too much and then Mom will never bring those treats, (for Me anyway.)  =O)

I keep coming back to this photo - already commented once.  But there was a photo months ago - Benjamin looking up at the counter and you can see a piece of pugkin bread there.  The look on his face is just priceless - and in this photo he seems to have the same look, yet he’s looking off at an angle.  Adorable stuff!!!!!!

Sweet thrresome were dancers
But none of us would chance them
Because they were all Samurai
They made electric shadows
Beyond our fingertips
And none of us could reach that high
They came on like a teasers
I had to touch and please them
Enjoy a little paradise
The log was in my pocket
When the three met the Rockett
And they’l never knew the reason why

I can’t deny it
With those smiles on their faces
It’s not the kill
It’s the thrill of the chase… of sweetie treats

Feel them coming
They’re knocking at the door
You know it’s no good running
It’s not against the law
The point of no return
And now you know the score
And now you’re learning
What’s knockin’ at your back door

Sweet Corrine was so fancy
To get into her pantry
Had to be the aristocracy - well WE are PUGS
The members that she toyed with - well we are PUGS
At her city club [PUG CLUB]
Were something in diplomacy - who needs that when we are PUGS??
So we put her on the hit list
Of a common pug love linguist
A mistress of many pug tongues
And now she eases all gently
From her Austin to her Bentley with a trailor for the pugs
Pug hugs
