Hope all is well with Pip, waiting for the update, sending prayers and pug hugs from us xo
Why is this box of Cheeze-Its on the table and not in our mouths? Really???
Gina, I continue to pray for your Pip and you. Please keep us updated. Hugs
Hellen, Happy Birthday. Hope it is a good one for you.
Hugs from Sue and Romeo
Patience??? Virtue??? CHEEZ-ITS! C’MON!!!
Luna opened the box, honest she did. We were just sitting here. Since we’re good, can we have a FEW?
I second Sue VDB, Hellen…have a snashing day.
And Gina, head right to the computer when you get home with your report on Pip. We’ll be waiting.
Mary, hahahaha!
Helen, Happiest of Birthdays to you…enjoy your day!
Ummm, Mom, have you heard of the Geneva Convention? You have to treat pugs humanly. What? That doesn’t pertain to pugs? Well, it should. Anywho, can we please have some crackers????
Prayers for Pip and a happy birthday for Helen.
Benny says, “*sigh* Please open this box Mother”. And Henry says, “Please put the camera down and open the box.” Silly pugs!!!
Thank you thank you everyone! I will post as soon as I hear anything about Pip! Hugs to you all!!!!
Happy Happy Birthday Hellen!!!! You deserve it! Hugs!!!!
Pug Hugs from Gina & Pip
this picture is priceless
Happy birthday Helen hope you have a great one
“please mom…..Mom…....MOM!!!!!!!!!!!”
Have a very Happy Birthday, Hellen!
Did someone say Cheez-Its? Bring it on!!!!
Isn’t there a commercial that says something like: “Get your own box?” That reminds me of this snapshot.
OK!!! This is one mean MOM!!! Putting the box of treats in front of starving Pugs (just look at them) is really a rotten think to do!!!! Come on over to the Great Grannies and you can eat really great homemade soup with ME!!! Cornbread (homemade) also. And OH YES!!! Birthday Cake and Ice Cream!!!
ALL COME!!!!!!
Hellen, you are too funny. Great comment.
YEAH!! Let’s ALL go to HELLEN’S!! And BTW, Hellen: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUU!! Hope it’s GRAND!
Oh no, there she is with that camera again. I guess she’s trying to get us to say “Cheez-its”. Everybody smile!
Sending you warm birthday wishes Hellen. Pug Hugs and Smooches from Lilo!
Can’t wait to hear how little Pip is doing. Gina, good call on the blanket. I always think having our scent is comforting for them. Just to wag my own Freak Parade flag, before we even got Lilo, I was all prepared like an expectant mother, house, toys, bowls, blanket, bed. Well I slept with her bed in my bed for about a week before we even got her so she would be able to smell me when we went out that evening. I know, i’m such a pug-dork!
Love to all from Lilo n me
Hello everyone! Here is the Pip update. He has diabetes! Which is manageable and may actually go away once his pancreatitis is under control. I got so much information from the vet that my head is spinning! But Pip is home now and staring up at me and that is how it should be. All is right with my world now. It is not normal to not hear any snorting and it isn’t normal to come home to no dog. I don’t understand people who don’t like animals. My sis in law is sort of funny about it. She says she would like to live in a dog free environment. And she said that one time there was a boston terrier in her yard and she was afraid. I asked her why and she said b/c she didn’t know what he wanted. She couldn’t reason with him so she was nervous. Isn’t that so funny. It cracked me up!
Anyway, Pip has to go back tomorrow and maybe Friday for the some thing. But hopefully they are getting his numbers back to where they should be! He is in good spirits. I know he is doing well b/c he just ate his supper and is scrounging for more.
Thank you friends for your prayers. It is truly appreciated! Pug Hugs to you all!!!!
I won’t tell if you don’t.
Welcome Joyce, Kaos and Heidi!
I have been singing the praises of this page (and all of you) to Joyce for a little while now. Glad to have you join us!
Gina, your post tells me your spirits are lifted, even with the news of diabetes. Hopefully when the pancreatitis is cleared, so will the diabetes. If not, it is not something that cannot be managed. I have lived with it for 33 years, and as loving a mom as you are Pip would be fine.
I know you will be happy when this is all over, and I will continue to keep you and Pip in my prayers. Give that precious boy smooches from me and Romeo…well maybe not Romeo. Oh heck, Romeo too.
Thanks for the info Lilo and Gwen.
Welcome Joyce, Kaos and Heidi. You are joining a group with fantastic, caring people who are owned by pugs. Looking forward to more comments.
Welcome Joyce et al!!! You are now Owned by Pugs!!!
Happy Birthday Hellen
And, Gina, take good care of that Pip, hopefully the diabetes will settle down when the pancreatitis gets under control.
Abby is still coughing, surprise surprise, but not like she was when she got on the steroids and antibiotics, so I think they did their thing. I just think her trachea is not a happy camper at all anymore.
pug mama, glad to hear Abby has improved. I will keep her in my prayers to St. Francis.
“What? ... we’re just sitting here like good dogies” ... “Don’t you have some shopping to do?”
Gina, I haven’t been reading all the comments lately, so I didn’t know about Pip till today. I’m glad to hear he’s ok, well except for the diabetes.
Happy Birthday a day late, Hellen.
Glad to hear that Abby is better.
Thank you thank you thank you everyone! It seems they have things controlled right now. I get to go get him early today…like in an hour! And they are going to teach me how to give him his shots! He isn’t on an IV anymore and they gave him a shot of antibiotics that last 10 days so I don’t have to worry about that. They said he was perky and looking around! I take him in on Sat morn to check his levels and then in 3 weeks to check his pancreatitis. The prayers are working everyone. Thank you!!!!!
Yeah Gina and Pip. I love those antibiotic shots that last 10 days. Sure makes life easier. I’m sure you will receive thorough instructions on the shots. Wrapping my arms around both of you and praying for a very quick recovery, and hopefully no more injections.
GINA: I know you and PIP will do fine with his shots -and hopefully, he won’t have to be on them forever. This has been a true wake up “shot” in the arm for me and Bella - because, with her weight, she could be a prime candidate for either diabetes or pancreatitis or both, andI know that PIP isn’t even nearly the butterball that Bella is. So - with this being so “close to home” - a fellow OBP-er and all - I’m re-dedicating myself to BOTH of our diets.
Your relief at getting him back home was quite apparent in your posting. It IS so really hard to come home to a non-snorting household, isn’t it? Funny thing about Bella - she is so quiet in the house and so black that I sometimes have a hard time locating her when the house is dark - until I stand very still and listen . . . . for the snorts! She can’t hold ‘em in - even if she’s trying to play “WHERE’S BELLA” with me.
I’m taking a day off tomorrow and may not get on my computer - so just in case: Hope everyone stays well or gets better and has fun over the weekend. Don’t forget to FALL BACK as well. LOVE that extra hour of sleep! And HELLEN: Hope you hear really soon about your new baby, EMMA.
HE IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Mary and Sue VDB and just ate lunch. He is getting ready to get all snuggled in his bed where he should be! I learned how to give him his shot and it is easy peasy! Once again, THANK YOU!!!!!!
Welcome Home Pip, and way to go Gina! You are absolutely right, that things are as they should be. There isn’t anything that says home sweet home quite like the loving snort of a pug! I have had to kennel Lilo on occasion and I hate spending a night without her at all, never mind in our own home. Just feels so empty.
Lol @ Mary playing Where’s Bella. We play a rousing game of “mama’s gonna get you” at times before bed.
There is nothing better than waking up with a smile on your face and a pug in your arms.
Continued prayers for Abby, and Pip and all others in need. Love Lilo n me
Gina and Pip, imagine a big, bright banner across your doorway, reading “Welcome Home Pip. Glad You Are Doing Better. The OBP Gang”. I’m sure that’s how we all feel.
Lilo and Sue…I can see the banner and it’s beautiful! Pip is being his usual self…he is scrounging in the kitchen as I cook dinner.
Lilo~ I love how you said, ‘rousing game of mamas gonna get you’. for some reason, that cracked me up!
Mary ~ “wheres Bella” made me laugh too! And the whole snorting louder with things in their mouths is hilarious b/c it’s true!
Sometimes we can get Pip to play fetch with his piggy pig toy but sometimes he just shakes the pig.
My sister’s dog Frank plays hide n seek. You distract him with a toy and then run down the hall and hide and he totally comes looking for you. When he finds you, you just yell hooray and he jumps up down b/c he is so happy he found you!
I just love dogs! And I love all my OBP’ers! You ladies are the best!!!!!
