Crop Circles Update

Henry

Yesterday afternoon we made the trek to the vet with Henry.  It was also time for Henry’s annual exam and shots so we had scheduled all that for this appointment as well.  The vet did a thorough examination of Henry and checked his knee to make sure the surgery to correct his luxating patella was holing up OK and his hips to make sure all was good in that department too.

When it came time to look at his coat and skin, he wasn’t too concerned.  He did a very thorough check of Henry’s fur and looked very closely at the skin under his patchy spots.  His diagnosis is he doesn’t think it is anything to worry about.  He said the skin under the patchy spots is healthy and he shows no signs of irritation at all.  Whatever, has caused the patchy spots has run its course and the patchy spots are just a result.  But, he wasn’t going to treat him for any type of infection or irritation because, at this time, he doesn’t have one.  While that was a little hard to wrap my head around, it was relieving to know that nothing serious was wrong.  The vet told us to keep an eye on the patchy spots and if they start to connect together or if they seem to bother him to bring him back in for a follow-up.

As with any vet visit there is good news and bad news.  While looking in his eyes, the vet was concerned that he saw the early start of cataracts forming in the back of Henry’s eyes.  The thorough eye examination was prompted by some odd nighttime behavior that we described to the vet (more to come on this).  Out of the whole visit the vet was most concerned about Henry’s eyes.  He recommended taking Henry is to see the ophthalmologist the next time we make the trip for Luna.  It will be interesting to see what the ophthalmologist has to say.  Henry has been to the ophthalmologist before so they should have a baseline for him.  Luna’s next visit to the ophthalmologist is late December / early January.  While the news is obviously upsetting, I am trying not to go off the deep end until he has had a thorough examination by the ophthalmologist.

On a completely different note, we will be at Central Florida Pug Rescue’s Sock Hop event tomorrow!  You won’t be able to miss us!  Just look for Henry’s crop circles!

Have a great weekend everyone!

First the good news - a mystery that is not yet solved, but does not seem to be a problem, thank goodness.

Hopefully the opthalmologist will give you some comforting news about Henry’s eyes, even though it seems like an eternity to wait. More prayers to St. Francis.

Pumpkin bread kisses to Henry and of course Benny and Luna.

Glad to hear Henry was given a good bill of health by his doc.  Hopefully the eye doc won’t be bad news.
I was on the rescue site for the sock hop… breaks my heart to see the ones rescued and waiting for forever homes, to read what they have been thru.(sniffle, sniffle)
Have fun at the sock hop, enjoy the week end.
We have been forcasted a wet week end, hope not!!
Happy weekend to all!!

Ah, just like big crop circles, they are still a mystery…until you find the tiny aliens that have been visiting Henry in the night. lol

Seriously, glad to hear that was deemed no concern and that all else was good, except for the eyes of course.

I really envy y’all going to the sock hop. Have lots of fun for all of us.

Have a great weekend everybody, and L’shana Tova, a good and sweet New Year to any Jewish readers out in OBP land.

A pug sock hop?? Sounds like fun!  Can someone give me the website so I can visit and live vicariously through ya’ll?  Thanks!

Love to Henry and hoping that all is well with his little eyes!  Their eyes are what makes them so adorable and I hate to hear that he may have problems!

Love to all, have a great weekend~!

My cat brother Menace had “crop circles” that kept growing and it turned out he was biting off his own fur.  There was no irritation or allergy, it was like kitty OCD.  I don’t know if Henry can reach his patchy spots with his mouth but that might be something to look out for if they don’t clear up.

Well that is odd but i am happy the patches are just patches.

Although the kitty ocd thing kinda cracks me up. But then again I have 2 completely nutty cats that cannot accept change if their life depended on it.

I hope Henry’s eyes are ok.. and I am interested in hearing about his night time activities.

I’m glad the skin problem seems to be not a bad one.  And I’ll hope for the best for his eyes.  Lucky you already know a good opthamologist!

And have fun at the sock hop.  Instead of wearing a poodle skirt, you should wear a pug skirt! hehehe Oh, now I want a pug skirt too!

Well, good news is always tempered with maybe not good news.  Yea for the crop circles.  Maybe that is Henry’s way of creating his own Halloween costume?
Prayers for his little eyes.

I look forward to the fabulous pics from the sock hop.

Have a great weekend everyone.

OBP, I just read the post about Henry’s knee surgery.  Are Henry and Benny really brothers?  Just curious.  Also, I’m so glad to hear that his surgery was such a tremendous success.  I sure alot of that credit goes to you for following his therapy and doctors orders.  I sure hope the other pugs that posted about their surgeries had good final results also.
