Cupid’s Harness

Cupid

Many of you asked to see a picture of Cupid in her harness going to the vet. I must confess that I did not get a picture of Cupid that day. However, we do have lots of other pictures of Cupid in her harness. She wears her harness when she goes to the vet, but she usually wears it when we are in the side yard pulling weeds or doing a little gardening. We put her harness on her and hook her to a really long tether and she "helps" us do the yard work. She absolutely loves it!

Cupid, you are just darling and you look like one happy kitty!  Corrine, you always take the most beautiful pictures!  They’re all great, and Cupid is so pretty in each picture, but the bottom one is my favorite! smile

Wow, Cupid, you are a gardening guru, look at you giving orders and directions so your folks know the right things to do!

Corrine, do you get weird looks when people see a cat in a harness, on a leash?  I think I would do a double-take!

Cupid must be a sweetheart…she seems to have that “aren’t I special” look that the finest kitties have.  Actually, she reminds me very much of a Japanese Bobtail ‘half-breed’ my best friend has that we gave her 11 years ago.  Same coloring and she was the only living offspring of our wonderful Zipper (a full j.bobtail that we never did figure out how she got pregnant - she was spayed after that but was the most wonderful, loving, sweet, small cat I’ve ever loved).  Cupid reminds me of her.  And that reminds me that getting a cat is next on my list after I get my Abby (Pug, of course) a little sister.

Any advice, anyone, on how to go about finding a qualified Pug?  Abby was from a backyard breeder and I would never do that again although I do wonder how she would have been treated had we not gotten her.  (She has some personality problems.)

Hope I’m not out of line asking a question like that.  If so, sorry.

Cupid is gorgeous and what a great helper she must be.  Don’t believe I’ve ever seen a kitty in a harness before and she looks quite the model.

Don’t think I could ever get one on Jassy, but then she is 18.  Frankie might let me put one on, not sure about him.

Cupid is one of a kind!  And a pretty one, at that.  My favorite picture is the last one, too.

And Huckle, try talking that over with your vet.  Or if there are any pug rescue groups in your area, they may have a lot of information about breeders in your area.

Now that is awesome because my cat hates his collar and long tether. Because he wants to roam and explore and get as far as possible from his crazy owners lol. He usually throws a mini tantrum when he gets to the end of his leash and bats at it. lol

Cupid looks so comfy in her harnes.. I may have to invest in for the cat this summer!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cat in a harness, on a leash!  I commend you for training her to use one and not letting her wander the neighborhood.  I saw a beautiful, fluffy kitty run in front of a car and get hit about a week ago and it really bothered and upset me…

I had thought of a Pug rescue but with my darling Abby’s particular personality quirks, I wasn’t sure we would be approved!  Texas is a little far, but thanks for the input Hellen.  I wouldn’t transport a Pug by air and Texas is a bit far from NW Ohio.

But I will start my search with rescues, kids, and try to keep from crying when I hear their individual stories.

Just curious, how many pounds is cupid?  And, what size of the Freedom Harness does she wear?  Same questions about your pugs.  I know some pet owners that would probably eat that harness up, and I’ve heard you say such nice things about them.  One friend has a crazy indoor cat, that gets cabin fever, and unless he is allowed out on a leash, his behavior spins out of control…..And, my girl, her harness is about as old as she is (I think I’ve had it for about 10 years), and it is starting to get worn out.)

Thank you kindly:-)
