Dirty Bowl

Whenever we take Henry out to a place that has a high concentration of mulch, we are not sure how it happens, but invariably Henry will back wash all of his sniffs into his water bowl! While he never really leaves clean water behind, something about high mulch content locations make for super grotesque water! We had to take a photo of it to show. How are your all's pugs with the back wash issue? Luna had always been super gross with it but Benny was pretty good about taking in water and not leaving much behind and Henry had always been stellar in that category, too. Really, a lot of it has come with Henry's aging. In general, just as they get older, they get sloppier. Cupid is that way with her food but not with water. I know that aging brings less mobility and the weakening of overall skills but I am not so sure that this is Henry's deal. At home he can be ok but something about mulch brings out the chunks.#Ew

Minnie, Mack and Mario

Yep, we see it, too. Our puggie, Minnie is a semi digger and puggle, Mario, is a mulch chewer.  Either one leave behind debris!  And Mario leaves a zig zag trail of a thin line of water that escaped from his mouth after drinking, too. And he is a LOUD drinker as well!  Mack, pug, is a neat, quiet drinker. But he leaves behind goodies in his food bowl that Minnie and Mario wait patiently for.  Mack left behind a lot more until I switched him to a dark colored bowl that didn’t match the color of his food since he is visually impaired. Our kitty, Osiris, is very neat with food and water. He loves to lick ice. When we fill up ice from the ice maker he runs over and sits waiting for a piece to pop to the floor.  Does Cupid like ice?  Only Mario, of the dogs, likes ice and also waits for it to pop to the floor.

My pugs never have a clean water bowl! There is always dirt in the bottom and water all over the floor!

Food bowls no problem-water bowl was a big one-water every where! Both Daisey & Solsie are now neat little girls. Perhaps Henry has an allergy to the mulch? Most mulch is cedar and I’m very allergic-although I don’t leave anything behind in my water. Pug hugs from pastor sue & the Colorado 2

Our kidz are clean platers when it comes to their food bowls…they look like they have been washed even before I clean them! BUT there is always something floating in the water bowls!

How funny that you notice a difference when Henry’s around mulch!

Bennie generally keeps his water dish clean, and of course, his food dish reflects that he’s a member of The Clean Plate Club!
