Flipside

Luna

When I go to lunch at work, Luna always joins me. She is almost always sleeping in the bin near my desk, so to hop down she climbs out of the bin and jumps off of the dog bed that is on top of an ottoman. She inevitably knocks the dog bed off the ottoman every time she jumps down.

When I come back from lunch, I usually pick the dog bed up and put it back on the ottoman. But some days I miss it and Luna then uses that opportunity to try out the underside of the bed. I rarely ever see her sleep in this bed when it is right side up, but flip it over and she loves it.

Aren’t our Pugs just the funniest ever!  Big smooooch on your forehead, sweet Luna.

Brenda, how has life with Sir Luke been?  Just ran across a picture of him and thought I’d (and perhaps the rest of you) wondered about him in his new life.  I think he needs a smoooooch, too.

Pug hugs,
Huckle chuckles,
And Cooper?...He was in jail all day yesterday, coming out only to shove (literally) him out the back door every hour or so.  Now I know it’s cold here so he didn’t stay out long.  My husband came home around 5 and let him out.  By the time husband left again about an hour later….yep!  Big one right on the lineoleum (thank heavens).  What is with this dog?  As far as I know this was his first of the day and he held onto his treasure all day long.

GG - passport’s complete; he will soon be on his way!

Oh Looney~I know I say this too much but I love you so. You are a sweet little girl and I would cover you with smooches. She likes the underside of the bed b/c it seems more ‘cushy’. A princess needs more ‘cush’ you know.

Huckle~I will let you know what my vet says. Expecting to talk to him this afternoon. smile

I’ve said it before…this little girl knows what she wants.  Corrine, maybe you should keep this bed on the flip side just for her.

Our pugs are simply a constant source of entertainment.  Aren’t they wonderful?

Luna’s the sweetest little puggie girl ever!  I love her sleepy eye peeking out at you, Corrine.

Huckle, I feel for you.  I once had a beagle who was sooooo hard to housetrain.  What finally worked was taking him for frequent walks during the day, and virtually throwing a party for him everytime he did his “business” outside!  Lavish praise.  Very, very time consuming, but it finally got through to him.

Or…..tie a ribbon round his neck that says “Hello Grannygoogs!”

Luna is so precious it dosen’t matter where she is sleeping or what side of the bed you just want to give her puggy kisses
Huckle thanks for the chuckle I love reading about Cooper my two boxers are so different then him they were so easy to house break even easier then the pugs they have never had a accident in the house they have never chewed anything except there Kong toy and Nylabones when they were puppies I will admit they chewed every stuffed toy they could get a hold of but started to give them kongs and nylabones and that took care of that

Heather just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you I haven’t mentioned anything in any of the blogs about Riley but wanted to let you know I am thinking of you I know it is very hard

Martha - I liked your last solution best! Helloooooo Grannygoogs.  I’ll try taking him for walks and it might work wonders (but it’s so cold outside).  Thanks though.

Oh Miss Precious Luna…I love your style girl!  You know what you like and if it ain’t the right way for you then, eh why bother with it!  BIG smooch to you, gently of course, on that precious lil’ head!  I would love to just pick you up and hold you…

Sue, you are so sweet for thinking of me…thank you so much.  It means the world…

Don’t know what I’d do without the support from everybody in OBP land.

Huckle…Oh how (was it Karen B?) right she was to give you “Huckle Chuckle” as a moniker…I almost had a piddle puddle under *my* chair from reading about Cooper!!!!

WOW!!! You guys will never believe me…..there was a knock at the front door, the dogs barking like crazy…but no, they danced around the door barking with joy!!! I opened the door carefully and what to my old eyes did appear….A sweet old man, long white beard, red velvet suit, big red hat…and pooping all over my yard were raindeer with a beutiful red sled.

I invited the old man in, (both girls sit and never barked after he rubbed tummies!!)

It seems so many children have written from our area that he does not have time to reply!! He left me with a very long list for Louisiana and ask if I could get them answered by the mail time tomorrow!!! Of course he had already told our sweet mail ladies what was going on so when one gets off tonight she is going to come over and address them and put the stamps on so all I have to do is type my old hands raw!!! Whis me luck!!

Oh my Hellen! That is the cutest thing ever! Good luck typing letters to those wonderful children. smile

Huckle~I talked to my vet and he is putting Pip on venison and potato dog food. Wow. We have to give him half his old food and half the new for one week and then just the new and then nothing else. Wow. Pip is not going to be happy but if it helps his itching it will be worth it. Especially if it gets him off his medication!

I’m going to feel so bad not being able to feed him a little here and there but I just have to keep telling myself that this is the best thing for him. It might even help him lose weight! Me too! Since I won’t want to snack in front of him. smile

Anyway, thats my allergy story for now. smile

I’m beginning to think I have a mean streak in me.  I am very strick and carefully measure out the dog and cat food.  I don’t feed table scraps.  Treats are carefully doled out.  The only people food I give on a rare occasion is canned pugkin, green beans and carrots. Given all that, they all seem very happy.

Hellen, sounds like a big job.  Wish I was close enough to help.  It also sounds like a lot of fun.  Best wishes, and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for asking about Sir Luke, Huckle. He is doing very well and he is quite a mama’s boy. That is ok though, I love every minute of it. I have been calling him Prancer lately, he really seems to have a jauntier
air about him. He is much loved and I usually wake up as the filling in a pug sandwich every am between him and Genevieve. Luna looks very comfy in her upside down bed, too cute.

Huckle

12/15/2010

Brenda - that’s such a cute picture.  That was really funny about being the filling in a pug sandwich.  When I ran across his picture I just thought he had such a sweet air about him.  I’m happy for you both.

Gina - that is the food my vet said we might have to put Georgie on it if we get to the point where his allergies won’t go away.  What brand are you using or is it just a vet’s prescription food?  Instead of table scraps could you have a can of green beans and treat him with that?  Of course it might interfere with the vet’s diet. It might be worth asking your vet about.

Hellen, what a super nice thing to do.  I’ll bet you put love into each envelope.  It sounds a bit daunting, however.

Brenda, so happy to hear about Sir Luke!!!  Such an awesome addition!

Corrine, hope everything is OK…8:31 and no new OBP…

Huckle

12/16/2010

OBP - I thought it was just my connection but it’s 9:25 and no blog yet today.  Perhaps her system is just down?

Cooper and I have come to an agreement…I will spend more time with him if he will try harder not to potty inside.  This a.m. he did go outside with success.  Guess he just needs more attention?

Naturally, fingers will be kept crossed for OBP.

Hi Huckle~It is a bag I have to pick up from the vets today. I will let you know what the bag says. smile Pip loves green beans! I might have to ask about that! Thats a great idea!!!! Thank you for suggesting it!

Huckle, I am happy to hear about your agreement with Cooper…shower him with love and he’ll turnaround!

Corrine…fingers crossed it’s just some normal part of life causing delay…but definitely worried and thinking of you all!

Sue VDB

12/16/2010

Huckle, you may have just hit on the solution…more attention and walks. More work definitely, but we take that on when we have furbabies.

Nothing like putting pressure on Corrine…but we all worry when the blog is not on time.  We are a close knit family.

sue

12/16/2010

Huckle I think thats a good thing spending more time with him and going for walks I think he will come around don’t know how long it will take though

I am a little worried also wheres our mourning OBP I hope everything is alright there is the daily picture for today

Corrine - OBP

Hey Everyone - Everything is OK.  We just lost power this morning.  We just got it back and I put up a short post for today.  Sorry for the worry.
