Glass Ceiling

Henry

Looks like Henry is learning a thing or two about the glass ceiling.

Henry will contort himself anyway he possible can to make sure he is in an optimal position to receive a treat.

Henry you are a doll. Very smart to sit under the table where you won’t be missed. No one can resist you.

Henry, I don’t know about glass ceilings, but I do know about treats and snacks!  Any place for a treat is a good place!  Minnie and Mack, I totally agree: with a face like that, Henry (all 3 pugs really) can have all the snacks he wants!

Henry~you are one smart pugger! I hope you received a treat for this. I have a feeling you did! Where are your brother and sister/partners in crime? I bet they are waiting to see if it worked for you first.

Minnie & Mack~Does that mean that Mario was adopted? I hope so. That would be great news right before Christmas!

We had a scare with Bella last night. She gets a bite or two of people food here and there and she has had small bites of peanut butter every now and then. Well last night she got a bite of half of a peanut and then had a major allergic reaction. We’re guessing it was the peanut b/c we don’t know what else it could’ve been. She started licking her paws, and scooting and itching her ears and then we noticed that her face was so swollen and her tail was down! She even went to my husband for ‘help’ (I was in the shower) and she doesn’t really care for my husband so we knew something was wrong!

So we gave her a benadryl and then googled everything under the sun about allergic reactions. After about 30 minutes she started to calm down and then fell asleep and now she is fine. She is snoozing away in her bed. I’m going to call her vet today to get his opinion but in the meantime, no people food at all for Bella!

Anyone else experience something like this?

Pug Hugs to you all!

Bella & me.

Looks like Henry might just hit his head on that glass ceiling once in awhile.  Let’s see….what would make him feel better if that happens?  Hmmm…Oh, I know!  A treat!!!

Gina, that must have been awful with Bella!!!  I hope there are no recurrences.  I didn’t know about Benadryl for dogs either, so that’s good info.

Yeah, try to turn away from that face.  It’s probably the best begging face I’ve ever seen.

Oh, gee Gina.  I can imagine you were beside yourself last night.  Thank heavens you had Benadryl on hand.  Guess that’s a lesson for all of us.  I would have freaked out.  Peanuts, eh?  Surely she’s had peanut butter before without a problem.  That’s odd that the peanut itself did that when peanut butter had not before.

Hey, kids.  I got a book I’d ordered in the mail today called Puddin’ Don’t Fetch (among other things).  It is a hoot.  I first saw Puddin’ Don’ts site and just knew I had to get the book.  The web site is www (dot)puddindont (dot) com (cannot write it as a normal site address) and well worth looking at. Pudding is the paraplegic pug for reasons obvious when you first see him. I think you all would enjoy it.  I laughed myself silly (although I didn’t have far to go on that one).

Awwww, Henry -  those eyes are dripping with “I’m soooo hungry”.  You really got it goin’ on, pug!!

I always have Benadryl on hand for Bella.  She had her first allergic reaction to a distemper vaccine when she was just a lil’ ol’ puppy.  Her face ballooned out to the size of canteloupe and her eyes were nearly swollen shut.  I had just brought her home from the vet and we rushed right back.  I was scared out of my mind.  Poor baby.  The vet gave her a shot of Prednisone and told me to pick up the Benadryl for home.  I kept her laying against my chest and put cool wash clothes against her head and face for the rest of the afternoon.  By evening she was top-notch - but we don’t do any innoculations w/out a pink pill and sometimes also a shot from the vet first.  I’ve felt just like I used to when my son was a baby.

Henry what a smart little pugger! Watch for a treat and catch before it hits the ground or gets gobbled up by a brother or sister. Pug hugs to Bella, hope she is better will keep benadryl on hand even though Ms.Solsie doesn’t seem to have allergies to anything remotely related to foods! pug hugs from pastor Sue & the Colorado 2
