Groomer

Henry and Luna

It may seem like Henry is whispering a secret to Luna in this snapshot, but this scenario can be seen daily in the OBP household. Henry is the local groomer around here. He licks clean the ears of both Luna & Benjamin. Sadly, neither of them return the favor. Not only does he lick their ears clean but he will sometimes also clean Luna's face (specifically her eyes). Henry regularly licks our eyes at bedtime, too. This has become so much of a ritual, I am starting to feel like one of the pugs in the sense that if Henry does not lick my eyelids at bedtime, I am almost unable to settle for bedtime myself. I can understand now how the pugs feel so relaxed when Henry gives them the ol' pug tongue bath.

Oh my goodness, I’ve been away all weekend and just getting to a computer.  Sue VDB, I was praying and thinking of you all weekend and was desperate to get “plugged in” this morning to hear of your weekend.  It is so hard for me to read about Romeo’s trials and tribulations because my Riley had vestibular disease as I mentioned…and yes, he did get the perma-tilt from it, but if I remember correctly, it didn’t present right away but only after it “flared” up a second time.  I could be wrong on this, but in any event…

I am still praying with all my might for Romeo and you.  I know how scary it is not to know for sure what is going on.  Romeo has the best momma ever and he knows it.  I also agree with everything that Huckle said.  The love, caring, and support you have for all of us is returned to you most definitely.  We love you and are thinking of you and Romeo…please make sure one of his kisses today is from me, Bax, and Cole (and Riley too!).

Today’s post is adorable and I think Henry is such a good brother for keeping Benny and Luna nice and clean (and mom’s eyes too!).  Could you perhaps loan him out because Baxter’s ears will not stay clean for the life of me!!!  Henry, help!

Henry you are such a sweet and caring pug.  You care for your sister and brother with much love, and let your mama and daddy know how much you love them too.  Many hugs and kisses to you sweet baby.

Loved today’s post.  Wish my Bella was more of a nurturer like Henry.  Guess she figures that’s my job.  I babysit 3 other pugs now and then and the 1 male, Cosmos, is like Henry the Groomer.  Sort of like he tends his harem of females as he’s the solo male.

Hope the weekend went well for everyone - especially for Romeo and Baxter and their families.

I’m going to the vet today for more eye drops for Bella.  I was cleaning “goo” from her eyes all weekend.  The regular “tears” drops don’t seem to help.  I guess it’s her allergies - she doesn’t seem to mind - but is getting tired of my fussing with her.  Too bad Henry’s not around to assist w/the situation.  I have a feeling she’d prefer his attentions to mine.

Mary, thank you so much for your thoughts for Baxter!!!  He is doing SOOOO much better…still on meds constantly, but not as-constant as before which has made life a little easier on both of us!

I love this picture. It is so sweet. Isn’t it heartwarming to think of what they are thinking? For Henry to do that and for Benny and Looney to him. How very sweet.

Still sending prayers Sue VDB for you and Romeo. Can’t stop thinking of you. Hugs!

Stay cool if you’re hot and stay warm if you’re cold. We are ridiculously hot and humid again. ugh. I’m glad it’s August though. That means fall is right around the corner! Hooray!

When I saw the title, “Groomer”, I thought, Pugs don’t go to the groomer; then I opened it and saw that the pug WAS the groomer.  Nice job Henry!

C.J. is obsessed with Toeby’s rump…therefore, I do all the kissing and do not allow C.J. to kiss or lick my face…I know where that mouth has been!  Toeby is not a licker but every so often he’ll give me a kiss!

Genevieve is the head groomer in charge around our house. She acts like Molly is her baby for some reason.
Molly is an honorary pug, really a lab pit bull mix. She is very sweet natured and takes everything Genevieve dishes out to her. (Even though Molly could put Genevieve’s head in her mouth) She gives Sir Luke a lick or two before bed and also my sweet natured hubby. She just loves to lick his high forehead and the rest of his big bald head.
Sue, still praying for and thinking of you and Romeo. Know how worried you must be.

My Wheezy is the resident groomer. So much so that one of the pugs got an ear ache that the vet said was caused by all the licking. So now I have to monitor Wheezys licking.

Henry, you are so sweet to keep your whole family well-groomed - love the picture of you and Looney!  I’m keeping Sue VDB and Romeo in my prayers.

Thanks again everyone for keeping my sweet Romeo and me in your thoughts and prayers.  I wrote on the “All Mine” blog that all of the symptoms he displayed Friday have disappeared.  I don’t know if this is temporary or permanent, and if it happens again (I think St. Francis has intervened) I will know what to do.  I am keeping him on Dramamine until he sees Jim Thursday afternoon.

Heather, happy Bax is doing so much better.

Mary Castagnoli, hope the eye drops keep Bella’s allergies under control.

As instruced, I have given Romeo the good will hugs and kisses, and have been able to get away with it!!!

That should be “instructed”.
