Happy Independence Day

Benjamin, Luna and Henry

The Fourth of July is one of the OBP humans' favorite holidays. However, the puggers are not big fans. They have zero understanding of all the crash, boom, bangs that light up the night sky. What makes matters worse is that her in Florida fireworks are legal to the public. This means that the "fourth of July" actually starts early here. This year, it began June 30th as neighbors started setting off their own store bought explosives. Oh joy. So, this week has already been a few days of non stop barking. Oy! It is one of the times of the year when I really wish I could reason with my neighbors AND my dogs! Right about now they are all making me crazy. Now would be a great time for me to be INDEPENDENT of pugs & people. Hahaha! Hope your Fourth is safe & happy! Much patriotic paws from OBP. smile

Happy 4th of July to everyone. The neighbors around me have been setting off fireworks all week long and it is very upsetting to my “kids”. Most times I believe my “kids” have more brains than the humans in my neighborhood.

Last Saturday the neighbors had a HUGE celebration and I was hopeful that was it, but it wasn’t.  They were at it again last night, and I’m sure tonight won’t be an exception.  Sighhhh.

This year has been quiet except for last night. Not much barking. Tonight will be the biggy I’m afraid. Oh well…...

It has been crazy around here too. It has been going on for over a week. Bella just runs around and barks. We end up giving her doggie downers otherwise, she might have a heartattack! This is a huge difference from Pip who couldn’t have cared less about the fireworks (or thunder for that matter.) But thats ok, Bella can bark all she wants!

I love this pic of the gang! I especially love the garden flag! It is so cute!

Have a safe and happy fourth ya’ll. (couldn’t resist.)

Pug Hugs to all from Bella & me

Our town fireworks were held last night for no good reason I can figure which makes the Fourth feel like just another week day.  No fireworks from the neighbors - it’s illegal - but our neighbors have put up a huge tent and must be planning a party.  Wonder what they would do with a few other guests?  The party on their side will be watched by Cooper (who has learned how to open the patio door) and he will look like a child at the candy shop window as he hopes someone will invite him over.  Hmmm, wonder what they would do if the two of us (humans) and the five dogs and one cat would stand by the fence hoping?

I’m with you Gina, ya’ll have a grand holiday!

Oh my…People set off a few firecrackers last night AND THE POLICE CAME!!!

That will teach them to jump the guns!

Sweet three try to not become too upset!

OK GUYS Do not believe the weather man about Oregon today…it is in the 50s, clear and beautiful!

Chuck out the Pedigree canned weight control dog food!
A warning is out that there are BLUE BITS OF Plastice bags in it!!!

We’re lucky here, ours aren’t too bothered by fireworks. Last night we had a monstrous thunderstorm and during all the thunder you could hear some pretty big fireworks too. Must have been some nearby town’s celebration? Pen and Lucy slept through all of it. Lucy, however, was not happy this morning to discover it was wet outside. She insisted her daddy carry her across the grass to one of the pinestraw beds so she could potty without getting her feet wet.

Huckle, I’m laughing at the image of the seven of you peering over (and through) the fence hoping for a “Come on over!”

Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

I have a new theory that I’m going to try tonight.  Before the insanity begins, I’m going to turn on the stereo with a mid-range volume, but with the bass turned up relatively high.  I’m hoping that Bennie will be tricked into believing the fireworks are just more sounds coming out of Daddy’s speakers.

I will give a report tomorrow on how effective this is.

Martha, hope that works for you…er, hope that works for Bennie.  I

am saying extra prayers for all the poor animals frightened by the loud noises, that they are in a safe, secure place, don’t get loose and run.
