Henry the Hot Tamale

Henry

It is commonly known that Henry loves the Florida heat. He is a sun worshipper through and through. I feel like I myself should be over the surprise of this. (Trust me, while I am thrilled to no longer have to shovel snow, the Florida sun is not always my best friend.) In any event, while I have come to expect that Henry loves the sun, sometimes when I find him in the position these photos show, I sometimes go over to him and shake him just to be sure he's not dead or passed out. Henry, having the wise guy personality he does, looks at me like, "ma, what's the deal? I'm just getting in my sun time and soaking up my vitamin D. Relax." While these photos do not flatter Henry, they do demonstrate how he is "living the Florida lifestyle." (Other Floridians may appreciate that catch phrase for the Beall's Department Store jingle.) wink

Henry, whatever pose you are in, you are adorable.  As much as you love the sun, though, don’t get overheated sweetie.  Your mama does a good job checking on you, and looking at the last picture I certainly can understandy why.

Having had my fill of our 100-degree days the past week +, I look at these pics of Henry and have to just shake my head.  Bella and I would rather go outside to potty in the SNOW than the stifling heat that is currently IOWA.  (Bella does the potty - I just go along for the ride.)
But I DO understand the Vitamin D part, and am waiting for the temps to dip back into the 80’s for a little sun-soaking of my own.
Happy sun-bathing, Hen-ri’ . . . you’re leaving that much more shade for the other members of your FAM!!

Henry you are a little doll! It’s hot here in SC too and a good day for Puglets to lay low. They still get in their early morning sunbathing session for their daily dose of vitamin D no matter what the temps. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend everyone.

Oh Henry. I would love to smooch your big face in that first picture!

Bella loves the sun as well but we have been suffering from extreme heat here in Omaha. It is horrible. The temps are reaching 100 degrees and with the humidity the ‘feels like’ temp is around 107. One day last week the ‘feels like’ temp was 113. I dislike this greatly. I’m with Mary C. I’d rather go out in the snow than this!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Pug hugs to all from Bella & me!

Henry storing up a little sunshine to save for the winters is a really smart idea!

PUGS ARE REALLY SMART!!

Believe it or not I am in the house, sweater on, two pairs of cotton slippers and a shawl over my shoulders! Dakato has crawled under a blanket on the bed! And the demp is 61 out side AND feels like below zero inside! And NO the only air conditionar is from God!
Have a great weekend all!

Isn’t that a riot? How do dogs think? The two black pugs go out on the patio and sit in the sun.  Don’t they know black makes them hotter?  Then we have Taco Breath who goes out in the middle of the backyard and lays down.  Today the temp is threatening to go over 100, and still they bask.

Corrine, after you mentioned the goop that would be used in Luna’s laser therapy, I researched on the internet because what the vet did for Georgie did not require that.  I think it was more to enhance acupuncture.  However, the Class IV laser that seems to be what you were talking about, goes deeper and gets better results.  The site I found for that is (I’ll have to spell it out since the comment section will not post if I give you a web site)  It is animalmedcenter dot com/faqs/category/class-iv-laser-therapy, just in case you’re interested.

Gina, in case Hellen doesn’t see this, she lives in Dallas (I think) Oregon.

Huckle. someone did write in about the goop associated with sonograms.  But neither laser therapnhy nor acupuncture uses this.  Laser is a wand like device and is similar to scanning and doesn’t require anything else.  Acupuncture is simply placing very thin needles im targeted areas of the skin.

In my house, we call that position “pug-tipped,” like “cow-tipping,” but for pugs. The funny thing is, Cocoa will be in that position when he’s sleeping more often than any other.
