Impromptu

Luna

One workday last week, I broke for lunch at my usual time and I took the pugs out to the yard to go potty as I usually do. It was a hot day and the pugs weren't too interested in doing much so they took the opportunity to sprawl out in the grass and catch some rays from the sun. I was quite hungry, so I told the pugs to enjoy the sun and I went back in the house to start preparing lunch. I knew the pugs would come in the house in a few minutes after they got hot. Plus, the pugs never miss the opportunity to beg for a few table scraps.

As I was toasting my bread, I peaked out the window and saw the pugs were right were I left them. I finished making my lunch and just as I sat down at the table to eat, I heard the doggie door flap open and in came Benjamin and Henry. About 2 minutes later, I heard the door flap again and I knew that Luna was making her way in from the yard. But before I saw here, I smelled her. The yummy smell of my lunch was suddenly overrun by the smell of poop.

As Luna sauntered over to me, I could see that her front shoulder was covered in poop. And even though, I didn't see how Luna came to be covered in poop, I knew exactly how it happened.

You know how Luna sometimes smells a smell that she feels the need to mark by rolling all over it? Well, I'm guessing she found one of those smells in the yard, but it must have been located next to poop. At least, that is what I think. I would hope the girl would not be silly enough to just roll in poop.

Having no other choice, I picked my lunch up off the table and carried Luna off for an impromptu bath in the set tub. We had quite a bit of fun getting her cleaned up and after about a good half hour of scrubbing and rinsing little Looney was smelling more like her usual self.

Oh Miss Luna!!  To read about your little smelly adventure is hilarious to me, but I’m sure at the time your momma was thinking “Oh No!! Now I HAVE to give you a bath, and I really don’t have time!”
But you look mah-vel-ous dahlink!!

*giggle*  Looney is right!!  Before I even read down, I knew it was her rolling escapades that got her in poop!  LOL Miss Luna, that’s not very appetizing for mom darling!  Love that pic though…and your belly looks so soft and clean I just want to put kisses all over it!!!

I did have to watch your ‘marking the spot’ video again too b/c it is one of my favs!!!

Oh miss Luna! I had a similar event with my Buttons-only I was preparing dinner for guests who would be arriving soon! Now Luna, please don’t try smells that really don’t work OR was this a preconceived plot to get mom up from lunch so Henry & Benny could snag the sandwich to share amongst you? Pug hugs to all from the Colorado 3

This is the one trait Luna has that’s definately NOT dainty!  Glad Corrine was right there to notice the “problem” before Luna had a chance to go through the house!  Silly puggie smile

I hate it when Jade stops acting like a princess and actually behaves like a dog.  It usually involves cat poop and eating it, but she has been known to rollin the occasional something!  I know it’s their true nature to do gross doggy things, but maybe next time Luna will wait until lunch is actually over!

Oh Looney girl, did you immediately come in to get help from your momma?  Did momma ever get to eat lunch, or was it ruined for the day? Silly puggy is right.

Luna reminds me so much of Otis, except that he likes his scents *off* the ground.  Your shirt, your face, or your stomach are all fair game.  He’ll wait patiently for you to lie down, then BAM, full pug-on-body-part rolling action. Trouble is you want to give him heck but he just gets into a wriggly coma, and you have to laugh.

The picture was taken a few days after the incident.  At the time, I wasn’t really in the mood to snap any pictures.  So Luna was kind enough to reenact the scene for me.

oh my. reminds me of our collie, Abby. We have an area in the woods behind our house where we throw our food in a compost pile.. Once, Abby somehow found this pile and rolled in it. The house smelled of rotten garbage for 2 days and we gave abby 2 baths to get rid of the food and the smell on her fur. Our pug thought abby smelled quite divine, though.. EWWWWW

re. Cooper - This third chemo has me worried. He hasn’t bounced back and won’t eat anything (an 80# Boxer) more than a bite or two no matter what we try - shaved ham, ice cream, braunschweiger, etc - and he throws that up.  It’s probably getting close to decision time and my husband isn’t going to be handling that very well.  Cooper is literally his best friend and he loves riding through town with him because of people’s reactions.  Maybe he’ll get better, but I really don’t think so.

Sorry to use this blog so personally but you all have been so good in asking how he’s doing.

Corrine - Received the harnesses today along with your note.  Thank you.  I’ll try to take pics of them now so everyone can see how super the harnesses are (although taking pics of a black Pug is proving difficult).

It means oceans to have such support, and in some way, I think that helps Cooper too.  Thank you.

I’ve been so busy for the last month or so, I’ve gotten WAY behind on my OBP.  I was just doing a run through and ran across this posting.  I’ll say, ewwwwww gross about the icky mess.  The other thing I noticed, is that there was no “filed under” topic.  So, I’m guessing you don’t have a section called “poop” or “yuck”?  lol Oh, and btw, I’m glad to hear all went well with Benny’s surgery.
