In All His Glory

Henry

During the summer months it is too hot to take the pugs on their normal walk when I get off work.  So, what I started to do this summer was to take each of the pugs out separately and give them their own “mini” walk without their brother or sister tagging along.  The walks are short because of the heat so I can get all 3 of them in same amount of time it would take to take all 3 on their normal walk.  Plus, it is a great way for me to unwind after a day of work.

All the pugs enjoy their personal walks, but Henry particularly loves his time out alone.  He gets to set the pace and since he loves to dawdle he just romps along without a care in the world.

Plus, Henry loves to bask in the evening sun.  Sometimes he just stands in the grass, sniffing the air, letting the sun beat down on his back while he pants and grins from ear to ear.

With only one leash in my hand, I was easily able to snap this pick with my camera phone.  Sometimes, it can be a lot of working taking the pugs out one at a time, but it is good quality time with each of them.

I have found the “personal pug time” a nice change of pace. (we have 3 pugs, also)However, the one issue that continues to arise is that ALL 3 want a treat after EACH one returns from their “walk”. I have started to take a treat along with me for each walk… they STILL run to the “cookie jar” after each one returns… they are persistent! smile

I do the same thing.  Especially for Chloe and Zoey and they were used to a smaller community and enjoy that special time.  Marty and Rosie could care less!

I know the feeling. I do the same thing although I feel guilty as I walk out the door seeing the sad faces on the ones left behind. I do often walk all 3 of them at once. My goodness is that a sight! I am always all tangled up in the leashes!

I have also taken one of my pugs at a time for thier walks on my busy days when I need to take it easy.  The only problem I have is the one that stays home crys and whines their cute little heads off, it breaks my heart.  The funniest thing is that when I return from the half an hour walk they act as if they had not been together for days.  It is so cute how much they love eachother.
