Intuition

Luna

The pugs always wake up at an obscene hour for breakfast.  And by pugs I mean Benjamin.  Benny usually starts sometime between 5am and 6am jumping around wanting to eat.  I usually hold him off until it is time to get up for work, but on the weekends this doesn’t really work too well.  So I get up at his normal feeding time, take them out in the yard to go potty, give them their breakfast and then sneak back to bed for a few more hours of sleep.

Yesterday morning, I woke up to tags jingling, glanced at the clock and saw that it said 5:12am.  My immediate thought was 5am on a Sunday, Benny, you got to be kidding me!  So I grumbled something to him to let him know that he is crazy and that he needed to go back to bed.  But my grumbling was not heeded and I heard a pug dancing around not taking no for an answer.  I pried my eyes open to see what was going on and I saw little Luna staring back at me.  While Luna is always quick to join in on Benny’s breakfast crusade, she is never the one to start it.

Thinking that Luna might just need to go potty, I got up and took her to the yard.  Benny and Henry joined us and I scooped up Sol so that I only needed to make one trip to the yard in my stupor.  Luna wasn’t in much of a hurry to go potty, so I wasn’t sure why she was dancing around the bed so early.  As we were coming back into the house, all the pugs made a mad dash for the kitchen and while it went against my principles to feed them so early in the morning I did it anyway because I certainly didn’t want to get up to do it about an hour later.  After the pugs ate, we all crawled back into bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I heard a clap a thunder and then the sound of rain beating on the roof.  It was pouring.  At that point, I remembered they were calling for pretty bad thunder storms to move through the area in the early morning hours.  I laid in bed listening to the rain and the thunder.  Luna snuggled up beside me and was quite pleased with herself.  By getting up when she did she saved her paws from getting wet!

See Mom I knew what I was doing all along, and you thought I was just being annoying.  Smart little pug.  It always astounds me that they can sense things like that.

Another perfect picture/post combo (as always)...Luna is giving us a little wink saying, “there is a method to my madness!”

Oh, yes…I’m convinced that getting the paws wet ranks in the top 5 worse things for a pug!!  Once it rains, it’s all over in our household.  Many of times I’ve had to shuttle the pugs out one-by-one in the pouring rain because I know they’re about to burst.  We all end up a soaking mess smile  That little Luna is a smart cookie!

Smarts and beauty! Luna you rock baby girl!! We had a blizzard this past week in Colorado and Beauty found a huge snow drift to stand on-it was very cold, too, so the snow had a crust of ice. WIll send,FINALLY, a picture of her playing Queen of the Drift!

I guess Sleighbelle is the one pug that loves to be out in the rain!  She goes flying off the porch, barking at the rain and any thunder that might be there too.  As if to say, “how dare you enter MY space!”  When she does come in, she is soaked to the bones and I greet her at the door with a towel and then the rub-down, growling, playing begins!

I bet it seemed so snuggly and comfy to settle back into a warm bed.

And Sleighbelle must be the one in a million pug who loves to be out in rain!!
I’d love to see her!

My Sweety Wheeze is the food alarm in my house. The gang gets fed twice a day and she will start staring at me up to two hours before it is time. She also includes a pitiful whine with the stare if I make her wait till dinner time. Luckily she only does this with the evening meal.

That is too funny!

What a smart girl!
Gus could care less about the rain but 6 am comes around and he wants to eat!!
Indy is a little more dainty, holds her paws up in the wet grass. smile

Luna you are truly brilliant!  Female intuition is wonderful, isn’t it?

C.J.‘s “tummy alarm” goes off every morning about the same time (5:30) and do you think he adjusted for daylight savings time?  Heck no!
Toeby and C.J. will wait fairly patiently while I hit the snooze twice but they know when they hear the “long beep” Mom’s getting up!  Then it’s a race to the kitchen (for them) and I follow behind draggin’ my tushie!

On another note in the “Pug Pics”, I just saw a picture of Milo and in memory of his birthday March 26.  To Milo’s mommy, I’m so sorry you lost little Milo.  He looks like such a sweetie.

Wow! I have a lazy morning pug with a broken tummy alarm.  Sometimes the humans are up and about, and he is still snuggled under the covers. Whe he gets up, the first order of business is outdoors!! He likes to eat from his bowl when the humans are seated at the table eating.  Sometimes he won’t eat, if no one has eaten at the table.  I hvae sat at the table, reading a book or newspaper and then he goes over to his dish and starts to nibble.
Don’t they have little quirks!!  Too Funny

See? It was all completely intentional -Little Miss Luna must’ve heard that same weather report and wanted to potty, get fed, and go back to the safety of her bed before that noisy stuff came barreling through!
Atta girl Luna! Way to take care of the family!
