Laborless Weekend

Henry, Luna and Benjamin

We had a very relaxing Labor Day weekend. It was still too hot for the pugs to do too much during the day, but I was very happy that things cooled off enough to take the pugs on nice walks in the evenings. On Saturday, we went to one of our favorite parks for a walk around the lake. We haven't been able to go for a walk at the park since early June so the pugs were super excited to get back to one of their favorite walking spots.

On Sunday and Monday night we were back out and about on our normal neighborhood walks and the pugs got to see some of their friends that they haven't seen in months.

I hope everyone in the path of Earl fared OK over the weekend.

The gang is glowing!!  You can tell that they are quite pleased with their weekend of walks and visiting.

Yesterday was Cole’s 6-month adoptaversary…happy forever homecoming to him!  I started his day with a song during which he licked my face from top to bottom so I think it’s safe to say he’s happy!  grin

They sure looked relaxed and happy for the Laborless day. It was nice to hear that they got to back to their favorite park after a long absence. Pugs like meeting up with their friends and it must have been a wonderful experience seeing some old friends again.

Baby, Lucy, and I spent all of our Labor weekend at the Florida Keys. It is a very fishy area to live in if you get my drift. Most of Key West is swarmed with fish bait, fish boutiques, and other fishy merchandises. The air also smelled funky.

                ~*~
The people however were pet friendly except the people where we had to stay the nights. The location accepted pets and we paid a pet fee of $100 per pet. There were pet areas to enjoy at the complex that my father was renting. Winn-Dixie hired my father and his team of construction workers to remodel the store front- stucco and all. However this meant that he wouldn’t be around his family and had work out of town hence was the reason we were in the Keys.

We hope that everyone else had a pleasant Labor day weekend.

Heather, Cole wasn’t licking your face to get you to quit singing, was he?  (grin)  It’s already been 6 months…it just seems like it was last month you got him…what happiness he’s been.

Corrine, that picture is wonderful.  What a great shot of them.  Smooches all around.

Simply Pug - you had to pay an extra $100 each?  Ouch.  What we do for our babies, eh?  Shall I add Baby and Lucy to the roster?  I’m trying to get everyone in.

Anyone else for the roster?  Let me know so I can finish it up.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend to me!  We went in the other direction and “got a lot done around here”.  I’d like to have a do-over!

And to Simply Pug, Key West is where I saw my first grown up pug ever!  I’ll never forget him!!!

The puggers look quite pleased with themselves, because they got back into their normal routine.

Happy 6 month adoptaversay Cole.  You landed in the best possible place I can tell.

Simply Pug - ouch, and I bet they were very good babies on top of it.

+1, aka Cooper, what are you up to now baby boy?

Until 6 pm yesterday, my weekend was going fine.  I received a call from my bank, wanting to know if I authorized $700 in purchases to two clothing stores in London?????  Someone hacked into my debit card and of course it was immediately cancelled.  Now I am in the process of contacting people that my debit card has been cancelled.  Most of them won’t take my checking account info, insisting on a card, and that will take 7 days to get.  And when I call the number they list on my bank statement, I am redirected to another number. It is a nightmare. Fortunately, none of these places have a late fee involved. Progress if very slow, and since I needed a break, I logged into OBP.

Oh Sue VDB, what a nightmare!!  Perhaps one of your furbabies has been on-line searching for pup couture and ordered some special coats and collars from London??  All kidding aside, I am SOOO sorry that happened to you.  Thank goodness your bank was able to contact you right away.  Anything involving calling customer service these days is a nightmare so I am hoping and praying that you are able to get resolution sooner rather than later and without anymore hassle!

Sue, love the story about post-bath races…I can just picture it…pugs flying by…boxers trollaping through…and a little Princess Peke shaking her head at the insanity!

As always Luna is out front and center!! Love the gang and glad to hear you had a great weekend.

Please add GiGi and Gwen to your list, Huckle. Gwen is not a pug but is living with us while her Mom is going to college.

We have a little Chwahiua (sic) visiting this week. Really loves to chase and play with Gwen and grabs one of GiGi’s blankets and runs through the house. Even he brings it back!!

@Huckle.
What kind of roster are we talking about? I think we probably missed the anouncement. We paw through this blog every other day. Baby and Lucy would love to join!
The fee was a bit high but so was the Manager’s voice who came by to complain about the pugs being the way they are “hyper”.

Hello from Nova Scotia… Earl went by and we received a little bit of wind and rain. We are counting ourselves very fortunate!!  The temperatures are much cooler now.
We had a very lazy weekend, did some channel surfing and put our eyelids on pause… long pause… oops naps!

Oooo, Huckle Chuckle…(lol)...maybe add our locations to the roster…I bet this extended OBP family has reached places Corrine never imagined when she 1st started out!  Our pack is in RI.

Sue VDB - You asked, here goes.  I’ll try not to take up much blog space.  However, Cooper has decided that Gracie is his buddy and they play hard together and do a lot of mouthing all in good fun.  Gracie keeps going after his jowls but he’s a moving target yet she keeps trying.  He’ll sit on a chair with her, their two nosed close, put an arm and paw around her when they wait to get inside.  I was at the computer doing my thing and knew they were right next to me.  Things got quiet.  I looked down and Cooper was nursing on Gracie.  Now THAT’S friendship.

Simply Pug - I blatantly took it upon myself to suggest a roster of OBPers and several started off, so I typed the info and the list kept growing.  Friday, I think it was there is the listing to date to give you an idea. We are also adding Pugs (and dogs) ages; Rainbow Bridge ones as well.

Oh Sue VDB, how awful to go through that.  Something like this is kinda what I/we think will happen, but to actually have to deal with all that hassle…WOW.  Good luck.  Times like this are when you would really like to give a physical hug.

Corrine - this picture goes above my computer (it’s getting crowded with all the nifty ones I purloin.

Thanks Heather and Huckle for your kind words.  Not making much progress and won’t be able to until I get my new check card, but at least I have everyone on notice.  Hugs SVDB
