Little Girl

Luna & Henry

I’m not sure how well the size of Benjamin, Henry & Luna is conveyed through the pictures, but there is quite a size difference between Luna and Henry. Henry isn’t quite as stocky as most pugs and neither is Luna. We always joke that Luna has really long legs for her size. But Luna is not very long at all. Henry is a little scrunched up in the photo and he still is considerable longer than Luna.

When we first adopted Luna and saw how small she was I was really nervous that the boys would hurt her while they were all playing. Benjamin & Henry have been together since they were 12 and 13 weeks old so they romp and stomp like brothers. They can get quite rough. When Luna got in the mix, I was so nervous that they would hurt her and then I saw her play. Well, needless to say I have no worries about her. If anything, she might end up hurting one of the boys. Her biggest advantage while playing with the boys is that she is faster then them. So if she ever gets in a jam she takes off running and tires them out making them try to catch her. She doesn’t hesitate to jump right over either one of them and she uses every ounce of her body weight to her advantage. It is quite funny to watch my big boys get out played by the little girl.

Thats funny that you comment on that. My little Rukia is like 1/2 the size of Napoleon and she fights and pounces on him with much more…what’s the word? VIGOR than he does. She is completely full of piss & vinegar. *laugh*

Genevieve is small but she is very muscled
and hard as a rock. She can really move fast
and can run rings around our other pug and
our pug pit bull. But they could care less,
Genevieve is a little on the agressive and
intense side. They just like to play. She wants to win. She thinks she is the big dog.

What little Luna lacks in size, she makes up for in feisty! You go girl!

There is about 5 pounds in between each of them. Henry is 25lbs, Benny is 20lbs and Luna is 15lbs.

Henry could probably afford to shave off a pound or two, Benny is pure muscle and the girl while she has a lot of muscle, I think she has been getting too many treats

Is Luna taking Benny’s treats? I’m asking cause a pug parent could not possibly be giving the darlings too many treats! HA! My Sleighbelle is about 22 pounds and could really afford to drop 3 or 4; while my Birdy is maybe 15 and I would like to add a pound or two onto her frame.

Nothing is funnier than pugs at play, and when one has an advantage with speed or size, they don’t hesitate to use it. I’m thinking of marketing a funny video entitled “Pugs Gone Wild” (not to be confused with the not-funny one about Girls).

They are such cuties!! I hadn’t realized that Miss Luna was that much smaller than her brothers!! Mr. Skittles will be going to the vet for his annual check-up/vaccination… It will be interesting to see his weight now, last year, this time, he was 9 lbs at 5ths old..

Oh I LOVE that little grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl!!!!
Lil’ peanut!!!
My guys don’t play (my old man doesn’t play he just attacks…) but they will cuddle together (as long as I’m not too close by)
I chase Frankie and he loves it and he loves to fetch. Benee - he looks at me like - “I’m not gonna get that - you threw it - you get it!”
They do play tug of war with me - I have one on one side of me the other on the other…
