Monroe Update

Monroe

As you can see from the picture above, Monroe is doing wonderful! She has settled in nicely in M's house and has learned where the doggie toys are kept and regularly helps herself to a bone.

She recovered nicely from her spay and has been working on her potty training and her separation anxiety. In the process she has also found her "voice".

All in all, the little stinker is doing great. She has a little bit more work left, but she should be looking for her forever home soon!

Monroe looks fabulous.  She has a sparkle in her eyes she didn’t have before.

Again, thank you all for rescuing this sweetheart. Can’t wait to hear she has found a loving forever home.

Annie went on her first pug meetup Saturday, which was a picnic in the organizer’s huge back yard.  Annie really surprised me.  She was very submissive to all the pugs.  She’s not in the least submissive at home. Her best friend there was Katie, and 80 lb. lab who thinks she is a pug because Penny, the pug, has trained her well.

While everyone oohed and aahed over Annie, they all miss Romeo because of his very social nature with humans, and they missed his ears standing straight up when he got excited.

Annie came home exhausted, and for the first time in two weeks was calm.  Training classes beging June 19th.

How wonderful that Monroe is doing so well and three cheers again to Corrine for rescuing her.
I noticed in the pictures that someone has nibbled on the wood trim molding. I have two spots like that in my house—-I call them souveniers from past pups.

Sue VDB: Great that Annie is doing well, I’m sure everyone just loves her. My Ruby Claire is a pistol at home but very laid back at social class. She sits and observes. Too soon to tell how Poppy Lorraine will be at class.

Great to see how well Monroe looks.  Hope that his Forever Home quickly becomes secure for him, and hope that he’s not becoming too attached to his other dog-mates at Auntie M’s.  I can’t commend all of you enough for the rescuing and fostering you have done and do for other dogs/cats.  I just let myself get too knotted up over what the animal is thinking - first being left or separated from his original home, then settling into another and going to one more after that.  I’m not a good candidate for this process - but I believe those who are - display an even truer love for animals.  It’s very brave, emotionally, to be able to do this.
Monroe is a beautiful dog and so deserving of a forever family that looks at him and says:  That’s OUR dog!
Blessings to all of you!

So glad that Monroe is doing so well. She is beautiful. So grateful there are people like Corrine and Auntie M to save animals. God Bless!!!!

Sue ~ So glad to hear Annie did well at social time. Pugs are funny how different yet how similar they are.

We have our special house guest this week ~ Susie Dog the doxie. She is snoozing quietly now.

To MONROE:  I soooo apologize for referring to you as “he”.  I hate it when other people refer to my dog or others’ by the wrong gender - like:  if it’s an animal, it doesn’t matter???!!!

Anyway - please forgive my head fog this morning.  I remember your namesake being Marilyn Monroe - another beautiful blonde!

I’m so happy to read about Monroe, and how she’s settling into her foster home!  She really is a beautiful girl!  I did notice in the second pic that the door frame has a bit of chewing that’s gone on.  I hope that’s not Monroe’s doing!  I noticed it because we’ve had our share of chewing damage go on in our houses over the years!  Who would ever think dogs would chew on such places, but they do!!!

Corrine, good for you for caring so much!!!

bottom photo, a cheesecake pose.  So cute.  And, so nice to hear about Monroe.  She probably thinks she died and went to heaven.  yea for Auntie M.

Sue VDB. Annie calm, eh?  Sounds like she’s a bit of the devil.  Isn’t it surprising that the pugs can have such different personalities?  But then my sons are all very different from one another so I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise after all.  Isn’t it nice to have people remember and comment on Romeo.  That sweet little boy. He was your treasure.  And now you have Annie…lord love a duck.

Mary, I have read somewhere that dogs live in the moment and have no regrets.  I think there’s a fallacy in that thinking, but it takes away our sorrow of remembered pain in the past.  What does anyone think?

sue, thanks for asking about Georgie. He’s good and so anxious to be a canine pincushion on Friday.  I’m hoping this is the answer. I did watch Georgie today getting up from his nap and I swear he was limping on his back right leg.  I’m probably seeing things because I’m nervous about this.  Sue, did Romeo just stand still for the needles?  Or did he have some sort of calming agent beforehand?

Oh Monroe you look so great! So happy you are doing so well and happy!

Huckle, Romeo was great with acupuncture.  The only time he flinched at all was when they did his paws, and that was only because he did NOT like his paws messed with.  He stood perfectly still.  No, he did not need anything to calm him down.  The acupuncture does a great job of that.

Don’t be nervous.  You will be amazed how relaxed Georgie is after his treatment. In fact, I am going to call Dr. Rowe tomorrow.  Minnie has been having a lot of problems with her back legs.  My current vet wants me to make an appointment with a neurologist, but I think I will consult Dr. Rowe first to see if he thinks acupuncture might be better. I trust him completely.

Sorry this comment in being sent to the past, but the intertubes were broken for a while.
I have a picture of my pugger doing the EXACT. SAME. THING. at home. Really, the only difference is his head is tilted about halfway between sideways and upside-down. ♥ᵜ♥
