Mr. Henry

Henry

Or Mr. Outdoors. Henry loves being outside, rolling in the grass, smelling the flowers and soaking up the sun.

The good news for him is that Fall is on the way, which in FL translates to way friendlier pug weather. Come on Fall!

Oh Henry!  I am with you sweet man.  The only drawback to Fall is what comes after.  I am not in the least bit a fan of Winter.  Once I get cold I don’t get warm again until Spring.

Handsome, handsome Henry.  Wish I could play outside with you Hank because, I agree, it’s the best!

O’Henry, O’Henry:  You’re as yummy as the candy bar (do they even make them anymore?)
Wish you guys were neighbors so Bella would have some chums to sniff and snort about with . . . With no more nose than she has - you would think she’s part Bloodhound.  She’s devoted to sniffing out the spots under bushes where the rabbits hide.  If she ever found one “at home”, however, she’d probably roll over in surprise.

I, too, so enjoy Fall.  The autumn colors are awesome, days are warm..not hot… and perfect for puggies!!
glad to see you are out and about, Mr. Henry!!

Henry, you are a true Pug version of Ferdinand the Bull. Instead of rejecting the bullfighting ring, Ferdinand would sit up on a hill under the cork tree just sniffing the flowers. Henry, the sweet boy, rolls in the grass, smells the flowers, and soaks up the sun. Anybody remember the kind young bull Ferdinand?

I completely agree with Henry!  Come on fall!

Bennie and I have missed our walks—neither he nor I can take all the 100 degree days we’ve had.

If it’s 80 or above, I think it’s too hot for Ben.  What temperature do all you other pug-mommas think is too hot?

Elizabeth, yes I remember Ferdinand the Bull.  My grandson, who is now 9, had the story read to him when he was a toddler. My mother told me the story when I was little.  Thanks for a good memory.

MARTHA:  In Iowa - if it’s not the heat - it’s the humidity.  My Bella-pug has allergies, and I HATE humidity - so it can be 65 degrees - but if it’s humid/damp - we don’t like to walk.  But we both LOVE the Fall with the crisp air and the crunchy leaves.  (Bella loves to piddle on dry leaves - and she’ll happily march from pile to pile - sprinkling every one she comes across.  It’s really funny to see how she stomps through them - think it tickles her feet.)

And I also remember Ferdinand the Bull.  I really love re-reading some of those older books.  I think I had every book published by Dell’s “DING DONG SCHOOLHOUSE”.  Wasn’t the teacher called Miss Fran???

I am with you Corrine it has been a very hot summer here in Florida and am looking forward to the fall temps I noticed the mournings have been better and the gang will stay out a little longer
I wanted to give you a up date on Abby she went to the vets last friday for her blood work and her protein levels are back to normal but now Emma has her allergies so back on her meds and Cuddles has a collasping trechera so it was not a good weekend he seems to be doing better with the meds he is on he sure had me scared on the weekend

sue, happy to hear Abby is doing so much better.  Emma and Cuddles have been added to my prayer list. I know about allergies and they are no fun, so that is the ONLY reason I like Winter.  Cuddles, you get better for Mommy.

I don’t know whether to be happy or not about Romeo.  He has not had an allergy problem all summer (due to the possibility of Clushing’s), but now he is scratching and I have put him back on allergy meds.

Oh Yes, Elizabeth, I can picture that book in my mind.

Well, Martha, for my gang, they start panting when the
Doesn’t Henry look grand posing in front of that vibrant bush.
temperature gets close to 70.  Then I turn on the AC.

Mary, I can just envision the “piddle” dog.

Well Sue, it looks as if you have your work cut out for you.  Yea for Abby, nuts to Cuddles and Emma.  That collapsing trachea is scary stuff.  I did read on pn another blog, I think, that the writer said she would just blow air in the pug’s mouth and supposedly that helped lessen it.  I told this to the vet and to my surprise, he agreed it might help because their attention is redirected which can help for awhile.

Today once the rain stopped and the sun came out it was cool and clear. My 3 pugs had a ball outside chasing each other and doing the grass roll and of course sparring with each other. So Henry, we’re with you, bring on fall!!!!!!

Lilo n Me

09/15/2011

Mary, I love the piddle piles.  Lilo is the same way.

Sue, glad to hear Abby is doing better, and will add Emma and Cuddles to the pug prayer list.

Sue VDB, Lilo has been getting a pretty regular dose of benadryl all summer.  Otherwise she is scratching her itchy irritated ears, and chewing at her itchy feet, both of which drive me batty.

Hellen, we will send up puggy prayers for little Peanut too for a safe return home.

That being said, i would suggest checking the online classifieds in your area.  Recently here someone i know of had their Pom/Chi/Yorkie stolen from their yard (for the second time no less).  The lady that bought him later saw the missing dog ad on the same site, and she was kind enough to return him to his owners.  She tried to contact the scoundrels at the phone number they had provided, and it was disconnected.  This is why my girl is never left unwatched when outside, i always have an eye trained on her as she has never met a stranger she didn’t like and could easily be led away.
Theft of small dogs to try to breed or sell them is becoming a terrible occurrence in this day and age.

Pug Hugs, love and prayers for all from Lilo n me.

Oh Helen, what a terrible thing for you to go through.  Of course we are all hoping it turns out right and I think that idea of posting pictures on lamp posts, etc. might be a very good, and hopeful idea.  Our prayers are with you and hopefully will help give you strength.

Pug hugs,
Huckle &
