Mr. Particular

Yesterday I tweeted about a quirk of Benjamin's that had previously gone unnoticed by me.

I was in the kitchen giving the pugs a treat. I told them to sit and I noticed that Benny nonchalantly backed up to the rug and then sat, rather than just plopping his bottom down on the tile floor. This of course made me laugh and then I wondered does he always do this and I just never notice or was this just a fluke. So I made sure to give the pugs a few extra treats yesterday and sure enough Benny always moved over the rug before sitting. Here is a short video of Mr. Particular making sure his bottom stays warm.

Lucy does the same thing.  I think for her it has more to do this sliding around on the hardwood floor.  I use to laugh at her when she sat, because her bum would slide away from her front legs.  I think she got offended and chooses to sit on rugs now.

Every single time Lily sits down, she always puts her bottom up against something as close as she can, whether it be the couch, the wall, or your leg.  She’s going to wiggle in as tight as she can get.  They are so cute.

HAHA, I wonder if the cool floor is too much of a shock for his little booty.. smile LOL that is too cute.

Benny is a smart one, isn’t he?  I noticed he seems to back up until his back paws are on the rug, then sits.  That must be his cue that he’s identified to know when he’s in place.

If your Florida-in-July floor is too cold for him, it’s lucky he’s a Floridian.

Too cute to see Baby Benny backing up and sitting for his treat.
Mr. Skittles will take the treat, then go to the carpet to lay down and munch on it.
The have quirky , strange, but very cute habits!

We only have one room that is that slippery - the bathroom.  There, our guys are funny, too, when they try to sit still.  Their feet just keep slipping lol.

So OBP, have you noticed whether he backs up anywhere else on the tile? or just where he knows the rug is behind him.

Too funny! Indy won’t sit on the ground outside unless it is grass. No cement for her bum!

Sleighbelle’s feet - or behind - slips on the tile and the wood floors.  She will sit on the wood floor in the kitchen, but she never ends up where she started!
Maybe Baby Benny needs a “bun warmer”?

Aww. My pug, Oz has a sort of quirk like that. He absolutely HATES when the metal clip of his leash touches him. So much in fact, that he’ll actually start walking sideways!
