Outtakes

Well, the calendar is complete! So, be on the lookout for when they go on sale. They are at the printer as I type.....

As I was snapping the completely gratuitous OBP photos for the inside pages, though, some really wacky instants were captured. Most of them were of Benjamin but there were a couple of Henry & Luna. I wanted to include some of the outtakes.

I really feel like this is necessary to do. I am riddled with guilt! I frequently get positive feedback on some of the photos on the blog and am often asked about my camera or complimented that I am good photographer. I find this buzz amusing since I sit on literally thousands of photos that are just awful! I frequently feel like I have to offer the readers the very best in photo journalism! I doubt any of you would come back a second time if I posted some of the hot mess photo moments that are the more usual photos in my photo gallery!

So, I really needed to share that there are more duds than studs in my repertoire.

Oh Corrine….don’t give away all your secrets!  The first two photos could be my favorite EVER!  The one of Luna is cute even if it is fuzzy!  Your ‘worst’ photos are still 10 times better than my best!

Can’t wait to see the calendar!

Corrine:  Don’t ever sell yourself short.  I remember when I first stumbled onto the OBP site, I was recuperating from surgery for a brain aneurysm at my son’s (in Utah) for 6 weeks.  I, thankfully, had my Bella with me as well - but OBP has kept me entertained, informed and comforted with the knowledge that there are many folks, like you, Corrine, who delight in the all the special qualities and very human-like personalities of “da PUG”!!  Rock On, OBP and keep those outtakes flowing!!

I’m with everyone else Corrine! Your outtakes are even amazing! Love the one of Benny shaking his head. And even though Luna is fuzzy, it still has an ‘artsy’ type feel to the pic!

My sister says the same thing though. She is an amazing photographer too and she says that everyone should see how many “bad” pics she has. Here is her blog website if interested smile

Anyway, love the pics! Hope everyone is doing well!

If there is a Pug in the picture, how can it be a dud?  There is no such thing as a bad Pug picture!!

I really loved your outtakes!  My most disappointing pictures are when Bennie starts to leave the shot and I wind up with yet another pic of his tail…

A good photographer is one who can take a good picture.  Even if the photographer takes many pictures to get the good one.  Therefore, Corrine is a very good photographer!!!

Also, I want to comment again about yesterday’s post about Solsey.  It was a beautiful and special moment, and I was so pleased to share in it ♥

Oh Corrine, I really disagree that these photos are outtakes.  They reflect the pugs being themselves and they are great.  I will come back again to look at those gorgeous pugs.  There is nothing to be guilty about.  I especially like the photo of Baby Benny, but Henry and Luna are great as well.  You can post any of these you want and we will be happy to see them.

I was not able to get on this a.m. but thought I’d try again this afternoon.

The picture of Benny is a hoot and full of his personality. And Henry looks like a lawnmower, but so cute.  Yes, Luna is an outtake.

Good photographers take oodles of photos.  I once interviewed a guy that said he took an amazing amount of pictures to get the right one.  Corrine, just know that you take an awful lot of good photos and how you get some of them, I’ll never know.  But, I’m glad you did and delighted that you’d share them. You haven’t convinced me that you are anything but a super photographer!

Yesterday as I was reading the paper, I looked up to see Georgie in the throes of needing a “winkle wub” as he smushed his face over and over into the ottoman, definite signs of an itchy face day.  He must have felt my eyes on him for he looked up, then at me and I noticed his collar had come off and was ringing the end of his nose (what nose?...well, muzzle) like he was part of a carnival game.  Uncaring that I was laughing at him, he went back to “smooshing”. So I took pity on him and gave him the best facial “winkle wub” of his life.

I think those are great pictures! You can’t take a bad picture of a pug - it’s just not possible!

So if the calendars are done and we haven’t received an e-mail, does that mean none of the pictures we sent made it in?

Hi Emily,

The calendars have been sent to the printer, but I have not sent out the email notifications yet.  Those should be going out in the next week or two.

I’m with everyone else here. It’s unanimous, there is no such thing as a bad pug pic.  I have some huge issues though, Lilo is just so jet black it’s hard to get a good picture of her with no flash, but when i use the flash, i get the gloworm thing going on! Maybe i need to get a real camera versus my cheaper digital and my iphone lol!

Hellen I couldn’t help but think of you the other day.  We are searching for a pug for my brother when he moves in with us. (That’ll just throw my little princess into a royal snit i’m sure lol (the pug, not my brother)). Well in searching the rescues up here i came across a 6yr old black beauty named Gigi! I think that’s one thing about pug people.  We are really all related and are a family.
We will keep our paws crossed on your potential new friend.

Luv and pug hugs to all from Lilo n me.
