Overfloweth

Henry

Henry has never really fit comfortably in the puff pillow, but that never stops him from trying to lay in it. But, don't tell Luna. She hates it when one of her brothers messes up the divet she works so hard to perfect.

oh my goodness, this is a wonderful pic of Hank. It looks like his tail might be wagging. You should watch out for your sis! She might be tapping a toe nail waiting for you to leave! smile

You are persistant Henry.  I wonder what is going on in that mind of yours.  You know, sweetie, you are not going to be on Looney’s good side. I hope you enjoyed it while you could.

Too funny handsome Henry!!  Enjoy the puff pillow while you can, Miss Luna may have something to say about you being on it!

Remembrance Day in Canada tomorrow.  Thank you to our vetrans.

Owned By Pugs calendar came today!  I am so thrilled and keep looking over it.  Although I couldn’t pull up the listing each month of the pugs on it, I am wondering if there is a list for this year.  No matter what, I am delighted with it.  Y’all enjoy your’s too.  Maybe we could have a contest to see who can name the most pugs in a month, or a year.  The prize could be going to Port Orange and being an OBP pug for a day…hmmmm, I think I’m on to something! wink

Is this Henry’s beguile Luna look for some time on the powder puff.  Cute as it is, I don’t think it’s going to work, but, you get A for effort.  It wouldn’t work for Abby either, but it would for me.  Such a great look.

Pat, it is Veterans Day in the U.S.  We must all be thankful for our veterans who gave so much, including lives, or the freedom we enjoy.

Gina - Meant to ask how Pip is this morning.  It’s been 2 days since he started shivering, has that gone away yet or are you taking him for a check.  To say that we are concerned is superfluous but of course we are.  Smooch Pip’s darling little head and let him know this will all get sorted out and he will feel good again.  It’s so hard to have sick furbabies.

Hi Huckle ~ Thanks for asking. Pip was shivering again last night and then this morning he just wasn’t himself. Then he vomited and that was it for me. Got him into the vet immediately! Well, they took some blood to check his numbers and it showed he was getting too much insulin! Which means that it’s possible that his pancreas is beginning to work properly and create it’s own insulin! He ate there at the vet’s office and the vet said that dogs normally do not eat there b/c they are nervous and they really don’t eat while standing on an operating table!! And he was eating! The vet said that it meant that his body was telling him he needed to eat to counter act the insulin. Fascinating!!!

So I got to bring him home and the vet said do everything like normal at home and then bring him back tonight at 6:30 before we give him insulin to have his blood checked again to see if he even needs the insulin! We’ll have to see. And…he is down to 18 pounds!!! It seems like too much! But his body is just all out of whack b/c of everything! My goodness. We’ll have a better idea of what is going on tonight! Keep your fingers crossed that his body is going back to normal! smile

Thanks Huckle and everyone!!!!

Isn’t it funny that compact doggies like Pugs, don’t fit on those dog beds???

Mack is always hanging off a body part or two! and Minnie refuses to sleep or get near a dog bed.

Maybe a new doggy bed is in the offing for Mack.  I found this huge one at WalMart that lets one large Boxer and one (ok-large) pug with room left over.  You, of course, know Corrine’s affinity for dog beds (her last count was 21). Minnie’s attitude is rather un-pug like.  Does she demand “lap time” then?

Alright everyone!!! Just got back from the vet with Pip’s follow up visit and…...eating normal today and w/o his insulin shot tonight, his number was that of a normal non-diabetic dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks like the pancreas is healing therefore making insulin on it’s own! I call my regular vet tomorrow morn to see where we go from here! Just thought I would share this wonderful news with everyone!!!! Oh! And I forgot to mention that he is down to 18 pounds! Holy Moly!

Gina, I know you are so thrilled with the good news!!!  It is wonderful that Pip will not have to have injections.  I am so happy for you and Pip.  Thank you St. Francis.

In your previous blog you seemed to think thatl Pip had lost too much weight, but I’m wondering what the vet thought about that?  Depending on his size (big or small), sounds like a good weight for him, and where he needs to be.

Gina

11/10/2011

Hi Sue VDB! Thank you so much! Yes…I thought he was losing too much! The vet thinks 20 is where he should be. I think he will get back there but we are changing his eating habits so he won’t be overweight. He is just so noticeably thinner. I’m going to try and post “before and after” pics. smile  Thank you again for all your prayers Sue! Hugs to you!!!!

I claim this pillow in the name of Henry!!  I hope you enjoyed it. Love the eyes Henry!

Okay Gina, I missed a post or something about Pip and idk how that happened.  As soon as i saw the first one here about him shivering I immediately thought too much insulin as people get cold and clammy too.  So happy to hear his numbers are better, and that hopefully he is all done with the shots!! I’m so thrilled for you and Pip.

Love and pug hugs to all

If your dog is older, or has any injuries that affect its mobility, you may want to consider the range of dog mats or the specially designed orthopedic dog bed which use memory foam to provide extra cushioning and support.
