Post Bath

Luna

The pugs had so much fun on Sunday that the weekend ended with a bath. Not only did they get to go to the beach, but they got to see their friends Jennifer & Mary. Not only that, but they got to make a new friend named Corey and they got to meet a super sweet pug named Jade. Can I just tell you how much I love Jade? She was the cutest little thing and she reminded me so much of another little black pug that stole my heart.

Hopefully, Jennifer will be kind enough to share some of her pictures from the day with me. I was snapping pictures with my camera phone and they didn't come out very well. I am always very hesitant to take my camera to the beach. Juggling the leashes of the 3 pugs is hard enough. I can't imagine throwing a camera in the mix.

So for now, we have pictures of the pugs fresh from the bath.

Love how you can tell the boys’ fur is just ever so damp from their baths…and Miss Luna, that picture is too cute for words, she looks so warm and snuggly.  My boys are due for baths as well, I just haven’t been able to bring myself to do it b/c of the freezing temps; Bax tends to shiver post-bath no matter the weather!

Sounds like fun was had by all!!  Hope Jennifer sends you some pics.

Huckle, I hope Gracie had a good weekend and wasn’t too fearful of your cane.  I hope to hear you have made some progress with getting her OK with it.  Thinking of you!

Luna’s picture is so cute it makes my toes curl.  Of course the boys are cute as well, but Luna’s is outstanding.  The triple “Awwwwwwwwww” factor.

Heather - thanks for asking about Gracie.  As you suggested, I have been having her sit in my lap as I touch the cane but don’t move it. Teeny steps.  She’s very watchful but stays on my lap but I’m not pushing it.

I also ordered McConnell’s book.  Weren’t you lucky, Pug Mama, to have had her as a coach and prof.

And Sue VDB - the vet’s also a good resource idea, too.  I’ll also look into finding a therapist around here although my husband will probably have a kniption (sp.).  He sees psychological professional very low on the food chain, a pet therapist would probably send him over the top.

Oh Luna, you simply can’t get any more adorable, and boys you have sober looks on your handsome faces.

I too hope Jennifer submits pictures as I want to see that little Jade that reminds you of a certain black pug who stole your heart…and ours too.

Well, a bit of a snafu on the Gracie front.  Last night after dinner, I opened a new box of aluminum foil and everyone was in the kitchen with me.  BTW - my box of “aluminum foil” turned out to be was paper instead???  Anyway, I had taken the old roll out to see how much was left of it.  Not much, so I took the roll with a few inches of foil left (not the box) to throw it away.  Gracie was between me and the trash can and RAN for cover.  My heart just sank.  She hid until I threw it away.  Looking back, I can’t think of another time she had been around when I’d done that but maybe I just never noticed and put two and two together like I have now.  The poor “little” thing (“little” despite the fact that she now weighs more than “el tubbo” Abby) and I am telling myself that these months since we got them in June have been sort of healing but there’s still work to do.  Thank you all for your support.

Poor Gracie…what she must have endured before she came to live with you.  I feel for you as well.  I just spoke with my niece in Florida last night.  Almost three months ago she adopted a little dog (nottapug) and everything was going fine.  The other day she was getting ready to leave and wanted to put Buddy in the crate, and he ran to the car, so she opened the door thinking it would be easier to catch him.  She reached in to pick him up and he latched on to her finger, and bit through the nail.  She has a pretty severe injury and we are all trying to get her to go to the doctor.  Within the past week he has shown a lot of fear agression.  Her family wants her to take him back to the shelter but she doesn’t want to.  I told her he needs some pretty intensive therapy and love…fortunately she agrees.  She has a friend who is friend with a trainer and is going to consult with her.  Didn’t mean to get carried away, but what these poor babies have gone through affects them deeply and people who are not willing to deal with that just add to the dog’s fear.  Best wishes to you Huckle.  Please keep us informed.

Way to cute!!! The one of Luna is set to be printed off. I have stared scrap books because my picture corner has no more space. Daughter will not let me wall paper my room with Pug pictures!!

I use a power chair to get around and always to check before backing up. Both dogs do not seem be bothered.I do use the noise backup button just to make me feel the girls are sae.
