Pug Legs

Henry & Luna

If my legs are ever stretched out, you can pretty much always find Henry laying like this. He loves to lay on my legs and have his belly rubbed. Luna squeezing in to lay on my feet is just icing on the cake. Luna is a lap dog for sure and she will wiggle herself onto any lap, leg or body part for that matter.

Every Pug deserves all the best:  belly rubs, laps etc. They deserve all good things.

Too adorable for words…Henry, you are just a sweetheart.  Corrine, you must melt looking down at that sweet lil’ face!  Looney looks nice and cozy perched at the end.  I have a cute pic of Bax lying between my legs while I took in some sun this weekend.  They do love to be tucked in to body parts, don’t they?!  Kisses to all of you babies!

Pugs do deserve the very best and I can’t imagine anyone looking at their wrinkled faces not seeing that they get it.  Where’s bachelor Benny during all of this?

I think he’s saying, “uh, Mama, belly rub please?”  Henry’s expression is heart-melting!

Irresistable.  Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t have a heart in my opinion.

Oh, how I laughed out loud.  They don’t make them any cuter than this.  This goes up on my wall.  Corrine, you certainly have quite a talent for getting such great pictures (of course the great Pugs help).  I don’t know how you managed to get a still picture because I bet you were laughing your shoes off.

Sue VDB - I was thinking about Romeo’s reaction to the rabies shot.  Did you say what alternative you have next year (or 3 years) when it’s time again?  I’ve done a lot of research on vaccinations and it’s scary.  In Ohio, you break the law if you don’t give them shots.  How do you feel about the heartworm meds and flea meds?  Anybody else have thoughts on this?

Huckle, Romeo has a 3 year vaccination.  If I am fortunate enough to have him around at 15 I will not get a rabies vaccination.  He just won’t go anywhere out in public or around a bunch of other dogs.

I do give my babies Heartguard Plus, and they do fine with it.  I’m not that concerned about it.

As far as flea meds go, I had a horrible problem last year.  Nothing worked on them and the more I read, the scarier it got. I have not treated for fleas yet this season, but I bought Buchah insecticide.,  It is a powder to sprinkle on them and rub in with your hand.  The active ingredient is Pryethrine, which is powdered Pyrthrum flowers.  It is not supposed to be toxic unless it is overused.  I will let you know how it works.

Huckle I get my dogs all of them the three year rabies and distemper I did some research on the shots and they stay in there system for five to seven years so I decided to go with the three year that way they dont have to keep having a rabbie or distemper shot every year they are all on heartgard plus and I dont treat them for fleas unless the get fleas I dont want to put the chemicals on them if I dont have to

Hey Sues, thank for your input.  The only question I would have about the 3-year meds is whether they were a stronger mix of RX than the yearly.  I’m with you both but my gang got the 3-year as well.  It’s just worrisome.

Sue VDB, I’m not at all familure with the Pyrthrum product called Buchah.  Is that a vet product or an OTC one?  Can that be sprinkled onto the rug or is it just for the dog?

We haven’t had fleas in the six years we’ve lived here and every summer I wonder if we’ll make it through without a problem.  We are less than a mile from the fairgrounds and I know we are pushing our luck.  With 4 dogs and a cat and carpeting throughout, I have visions of horror.

Is there a reason you both prefer Heartguard Plus?  I’ve always used Intercepter because that is what the vet gave me.

Thank you both for the input, I really appreciate it.

Huckle, my vet just gave my babies HG Plus, so I have stuck with it.

The 1 year and 3 year rabies vaccinations are the same.  State laws determine frequency of inocculation.  It is confusing, so I suggest you google 1 year rabies vaccination vs. 3 year.

Buhach (I previously misspelled it) is OTC. For complete information search buhach.com, and has good reviews.  It is good for many bugs.  It can be sprinkled in many areas, and for fleas it can be sprinkled on the dogs.  For years I never had a flea problem, but for the last two years I have, and because all the poison I applied on my dogs and cats didn’t work, I had a huge problem to eliminate them.  I got the Buhach this year just to be prepared.  Hopefully I don’t have any, but if I do I will try this before using the chemicals.

Huckle I use heartguard plus because its so easy the gang think they are getting a treat all but Jasper one of my boxers he is on interceptor he wont eat the heartguard so I have to hide the interceptor in some canned dog food about the three year shots there are sites you can go to and read up about them there are some shots that adult dogs dont even need but some vets will try to give pets them like corona
