Pug Sitter Says

Benjamin, Henry, Luna and Cupid

I figured that since I don't work from home any more, I will need to use blurbs from the pet sitter's experiences to share on the blog. We actually have 2 pet sitters. One is Grammy. Grammy lives about 4 doors away and she works the Monday, Wednesday, Friday shift. And Auntie M, as we recently learned she prefers to be called, is on the Tuesday/Thursday shift. We have a form that we have them complete each day. (See picture below).

Pug Report

Well, Grammy is not so much tech savvy but Auntie M is. So, Grammy will complete the form and I will call her each day around 2 PM to be sure things are going ok. Auntie M on the other hand, will not only complete the form but she will also text and photos. This is outstanding since we get close to real time photo updates. It is most relieving!

So, I will periodically share some of the messages left to us by the pug sitter of the day.

Here is the first message that tickled my fancy:

In the column labeled, "How did I eat?" Auntie M replied about Benny, "Without coming up for air." Regarding Henry, she wrote, "Almost as fast as Ben." And about Luna, she indicated that she ate, "Like a princess!"

While on this day, Cupid was not observed eating, Auntie M did indicate that, "Cupid smacked Luna as she walked by because Luna gave her a dirty look!" (Which of course in Cupid's world, if a dog looks at her ever, it is assumed to be 'a dirty look'. Hahaha.)

Didn't take long for Auntie M to get the system around here. And while the photo shown is not of this matching story, it was the photo she sent me the same day via midday text. This photo completely shows that everyone is content being the lazy pugs on the sofa that they usually are just the same as when I am home.

Corrine, as usual you are very much on top of things and well orgnanized.  Of course we knew Grammy would be an excellent pugsitter, but you evidently hit the jackpot with Auntie M. I love your chart and I noticed a lot of N/A for Cupid…typical cat.

One of the questions I’ve been meaning to ask is how is the eye med routine going for little Luna?  I know you have that well covered, and after reading your blog am sure she is very much on schedule.

As a side note, Romeo slept like a rock last night…think his whole experience wore him out.  Wish I could say the same.  I’m navigating on 3 hours of sleep this morning, with no chance of a nap later.  He’s not letting me get out of his sight.  It’s as if he is thanking me for getting him to the vet so quickly.

There are no words to describe how fabulous this picture and Auntie M’s comments are…You are one lucky woman to have found her, Corrine!

Sue VDB - I have so much I want to say about your horrible ordeal, but I am just absolutely swamped at work right now.  I am SO SO SO thankful that Romeo is OK and home by your side where he belongs.  I will write more later, but please give him a kiss from me.  You are a wonderful pug mama and he’s one lucky boy!

I’m so happy to hear how well things are going for you with pug-sitting!  Auntie M’s comment about eating “without coming up for air” made me laugh!  That is as well-worded a description as I’ve ever heard!!

I don’t think I ever had sitters for my boys that were half as caring as your pug-sitters.  That picture’s quite a smile.

Sue VDB - I can only imagine the happiness you and Romeo feel.  I am so happy for you two.

OMGosh Sue VDB, I just got up to speed about poor Romeo’s ordeal yesterday, I hadn’t gotten on here to read the blog yesterday so I just now read about his vaccine reaction.  I am so glad he is ok and you are ok, and that hopefully you will get some restful sleep tonight.  Abby and I are veterans of vaccine reactions too, the first time, they “thought” it was the lepto, but it was so minor, they “thought” that it was just a coincidence, so the second time it happened right after getting the lepto vaccine (it is part of a combo vaccine), they FINALLY conceded and agreed that she should never again have lepto.  She was only about 4 the last time she had it.  Her reaction the second time was that her wrinkles/face puffed up like nothing else, and her paws got puffy, she was itchy, but thankfully calling the emergency clinic in the middle of the night (it was a pretty delayed reaction), they just had me give her some benedryl, and that gave her good relief.  But no more lepto.  Makes me a little scared knowing she is susceptible to this though.

Little Milkbones????  Oh my, I better not tell Abby.  She already thinks it is rude that I give her these little Charlee Bear treats that are 3 calories apiece!

http://www.charleebear.com/dog+treats+faq.php

How many calories are in each treat?
Each Charlee Bear Treats weighs around 1 gram and is less than 3 calories. A medium size dog biscuit weighs around 36 calories. That means you dog can eat 12 Charlee Bear treats for the same number of calories as 1 medium size biscuit.

WOW!!! I have been off sick nd did not kno you were not working at home and had a sitter!! Glad you found two so the gang gets lots of extra attention. Bet they go crazy when you get home!!

GiGi gets very few treats. She does love the skined, boneless chicken strips in three pound bags. I can cook them in the microwave one or two at a time and the whole gane loves them and ME!!!
