Purple

Luna

When we took Luna in for her surgery on Tuesday, it was happenstance that we marked all her spots in purple washable marker. We thought purple would show up the best on her fur and we really wanted the spots we marked to stick out. On a side note, coloring on a dog isn't really that easy. But, it did make me feel like a mischievous toddler.

When we picked Luna up from the vet, she had purple stitches and the vet let us know that they picked purple to specifically match her spots.

There has been a lot of purple power this week and I hope it is a sign the Baltimore Ravens are going to win their next playoff game. I know they do purple Fridays in Baltimore, but Luna took it one step further and got purple stitches to support the team.

*giggle* what a cool vet…and it just so happens that purple is my favorite color so I’m happy to see Luna rocking it! Love this pic of the lil’ lady. Hope she is getting lots of needed rest and that we hear good news soon from the doc!! Love you Looney!

Luna, what a little cuddle-baby you are. It’s good to know your stitches are color coordinated with your newly decorated fur coat. Your vet has a good sense of humor.

Has anyone heard of or tried The Budwig Diet for canines with cancer? It was what I was looking for when Cooper1 was so sick, but didn’t find it in time to help him. The best I could come up with was Blue Buffalo’s Wilderness blend of high protein, low carbs. The Budwig Diet uses cottage cheese and cold pressed flax seed and other things in a 2:1 ratio.

And I’m so glad Martha said something about the purple “lipstick”. I was wondering how or if I should even ask Corrine if she wore that purple lipstick! I thought, ‘wow, that is really really purple lipstick.” LOL. Glad to hear it’s a marker, not lipstick.

Nothing like a bit of friendly banter…..i was hoping the color purple and knowing you were from Maryland would not bring up the Ravens…..But since it has…...I’m a Maryland transplant originally from none other than…......You got it…...PITTSBURGH!!!!!!!! So from my pugs to yours…....HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!!!! Hmmmm…should i get out the black and gold and color my pugs too!!!!!????

Oh Luna, I love this picture of you…so sweet. And now we know the story of the Purple Leopard and the Ravens who stomped our Chiefs last Sunday. And, you have a vet who is mischievious as well.

I had to look for Owned By Pug today as it didn’t appear in my mailbox. Glad I found it or I would have been concerned.

Oh no…say it isn’t so Corrine. Not the Ravens. I hope those sweet pugs I love and read about everyday don’t actually have Ravens’ jersey or Jade would be VERY upset. Her Patriots Jersey may fit her like a sausage casing, but she is very loyal!

I have been away for a few days and I was so sorry to hear about Luna’s surgery. I am glad she is doing so well and I agree she looks great in purple. You all have much love and prayers coming from your friends in central Texas. Even though I don’t always get to read your blog, I do think of all of you often and it is so nice to know I am not the only crazy pug person in the world.

You know, I’m rereading all the posts, and apparently pugs and football fans go together!!

And I will confess that when I got Bennie, I named him Ben Roethlisburger for the Steelers QB. But last summer when Ben (the football player) showed himself to be a lot less than a good person, I “legally” changed Bennie’s name and got rid of the Roethlisburger part. That being said, I’m already wearing my Steeler clothes and the house is bedecked with black and gold!

And as for this weekends games, I just hope all games are well-played, with no injuries. And that the winning team just winds up being the one that had a better day.

Hey Martha!!!!! I’m from Trafford!!!!!! my husband is from Penn Hills!!! We left PA in 1984 and have taken our beloved “Stillers” with us wherever we go!!!Unbelievably right now we are transplanted in Annapolis, MD better known as BALTIMORE!!!!!Are you still in the Burgh? My son and friends are going to the game on Sat, we are hosting a party here….going out now to buy some black and gold stuff if i can find it!!!!! Yeah Ben shamed us all last year….but he’s young and hopefully remorseful!!! My cousins little poodle is named BETTIS!!! how funny we Pittsburghers are!!! Love the black and gold…..GO STEELERS!!!!

We left in ‘93 and brought our Stillers with us, too! We live in Carrollton, Texas now. But we’ve brought our sons up in black and gold, have successfully converted our daughter-in-law, and are now teaching our grandson to sing: “We’re from the town with the great football team.” I’m sure you know that song!
And I lived in Penn Hills from ‘77 to ‘85 in Churchill Valley : )

Martha..Well i successfully converted my son even though he was born in Atlanta but my daughter who was born here in Maryland….wants to insist that she is a Ravens fan!!!
