Romeo

Romeo

Romeo is a 14 month pug pup who currently is in desperate need of Liver Shunt surgery. The surgery Romeo needs costs $5,000.  Without the surgery the toxins from his liver will start to affect his nueroligical system and will eventually be fatal.

Brenda from Delaware Valley Pug Rescue e-mailed me in hopes that we can get the word out about Romeo and help raise funds to get him the life saving surgery he so desperately needs.

I’m going to be sending over a donation from Owned by Pugs and H. Doodle and if any other readers could send in a donation I know the Delaware Valley Pug rescue, along with little Romeo, would certainly appreciate it.  Whether big or small a donation of any size goes a long way in getting sweet little Romeo back on his feet so that he can live the true life of a pug pup.

If you would like to donate you can do so by sending a check made out to Delaware Valley Pug Rescue and sending it to:

Delaware Valley Pug Rescue
PO Box 861
Avondale , PA 19311.

Thank you pug lovers!

UPDATE: Last night Romeo’s health took a turn for the worse and he was rushed to the emergency vet.  He will be undergoing surgery today.  I will let you know as soon as I have an update.

UPDATE: In case you did not catch Brenda’s comment here is the latest on little Romeo:
Thank you so much for your well wishes and generosity. The other members of the rescue and especially Romeo’s foster parents were very touched by your support. Unfortunately, the surgery is on hold until we can get Romeo’s blood cell count up to a healthy level. Hopefully he’ll get his count up high enough in the next couple of days to get his surgery. Thank you for your well wishes and keep Romeo in your prayers the next couple of days

Thank you all so very much for all of your generosity and support. Romeo has been having a rough time of it over the past couple of days. I just found out that his condition took a dramatic turn for the worse yesterday and he was rushed to an emergency vet facility. Romeo is currently scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts. I’ll let you know how he does.

Brenda,

We are sending a check today and I hope Romeo’s surgery goes great.  Romeo looks so much like our Brandy, it’s upsetting. How did Romeo get this condition?  I seen this before at other pug rescues and was curious.

Hi Everyone:

Romeo has had his surgery and so far so good. The doctors say the next 72 hours will be critical, but initially everything looks okay. Thank you again for your well wishes and donations. I’ll make sure to provide an update Monday night.

Warmest Wishes,
Brenda

I was just wondering if there was any update on Romeo.  How is he doing?
