Simba

Simba, Benjamin and Luna

Benjamin experienced a first a few weeks ago. He found a cat that actually likes him.

It is no secret that Benjamin is the lowest pug on Cupid's totem pole. And every other cat he has come across has promptly greeted him with a bap on the head.

So when Simba, a cat that lives in our neighborhood that is allowed to go outside, and Benny crossed paths, Benny was bracing himself for the worst, but was presently surprised when Simba rubbed up against him and promptly flopped on his back. (Yup, that is Benny in the pink collar below. He was borrowing it from his sister that day).

Benjamin and Simba

And ever since their first meeting, Simba generally comes over to see the pugs when they go out for their evening walk. We will be walking along and he will come darting over to say hi to the pugs. After a minute or two of prancing around the pugs he is off for other adventures.

Coco and Beau could and do get along with cats….our 2 and the 1 stray that we have…BUT…........Luccia (the frenchi) on the other hand…...will go to any length and has to let the cat know she is in charge and will hurt them if she can…..Not a good mix and it’s unbelieveable to see the difference in dogs in the same surroundings!! Go figure…....

How could anyone or any creature not love Benny?  He’s just a big love muffin, glad he’s found Simba.  His confidence might have been getting shaky…

Thanks to sue and Sue VDB for well wishes…still coughing, but on the mend.  However, after going through the chaos of today that I returned to I would like to say that I would be quite happy spending the rest of my days in bed with the boys.  There’s nothing finer than cozy pugs and a bed and NO stress from other people!!

Benny, looks like you have a kitty crushin’ on you…Too adorable.  I think it’s so cute that she comes over to see the gang on your nightly walks.

You can tell a lot about a cat by it’s posture.  Luna seems to be saying “I’ll wait right here. You go, Bro”

I am shocked that your pugs can come across a strange cat and not be anything but territorial. Wow, not to mention the cat just walks up and flops over. Just amazed here. lol

I just love stories of Pugs and cats getting along.  I think typically all Pugs love cats but cats don’t always love them.  Good for Benny for finding a friend!  There used to be a cat in the apartment complex where I live that stayed outdoors mostly and loved my Pug, CC and everyday he would greet her and they’d play; the woman moved.  :(  That was the only cat that I’ve run into that has loved my Pug.  I hope Benny keeps enjoying his new friend.
