Swim Camp 2010 - Henry

Henry

Henry's swim camp is all about fetching. We have lots of toys that float, but his favorite is an orange lobster. I think he likes it because it is easy to grab out the water and easy for him to hold in his mouth.

Henry's routine is to stand on the first step and wait for someone to throw the lobster. He then jumps from the step and is off to fetch the lobster. Once he wrangles up the toy, he swims back to the step and jumps out of the pool with his catch to take a little break. Once he is rested, we throw the lobster back into the pool and Henry happily fetches it again.

Out of the 3, Henry gets in the most swimming because he actually swims up and back the whole length of the pool. Unless someone throws the lobster short grin

Henry has also mastered pushing off the edge of the pool to gain momentum when turning around to swim back to the step. You can get a good look at his turns in the video

OK, first I must say how impressed I am at Henry’s skills…an Olympic contender I do think.  But…no video is up :-(  Or is that just me that can’t see it?!  In any event, can’t wait to see you and your new move Henry.  I adore that first picture of you…it shows that you are a true water puggie with that big smile!

Baxter and I are at work (way too early for our liking) and anxiously awaiting word when we can go fetch Cole!!!

This is just too good!!  I loved the last 3 days of Swim Camp2010
Henry is definately a contender for Puglympics.  He really moves, and the kicking off the side of the pool for more momentum Way to Go Henry!!  He is too cute with lobster toy!

Heather - hope your morning goes by quickly and the et calls soon!!

Hank, are you sure you are not part lab?  The kick is just swimming genius!!!

Is it wrong that I would rather watch videos of the kids swimming than work?

Henry is certainly an Olympic contender! Go for the Gold Henry! Do they allow orange lobsters in the Olympics? Pug-hugs from the Colorado 3 P.S. Little Beauty should be ready to have her first family at the end of July!

Coco and Beau both swim without a life jacket. With that being said….When they see me going to the pool they run in the opposite direction!! Beau not so fast, I catch him pretty easily…but Coco on the other hand makes a real game out of the chase to stay out of the pool and its a chase that she enjoys!! You know the one where you are almost on them and they take off running with their back feet tucked under!!Lu on the other hand, the Frenchie, is a rock, she will sink to the bottom and can’t swim to save her life. She will however, get on the 1st step and wait for the other 2 to arrive and then give them heck when they get there!!

Proud Momma - Just heard from the doc, who’s so awesome.  Said Cole is one of the most laid back, amiable dogs he’s treated in a long time.  Things couldn’t have gone better and I’m getting that lil’ nugget at 1 pm…tick tock tick tock.  Ahhhhh - make the time go faster!!!

I’m going to have to watch Swim Camp a few more times this morning to keep me entertained because I agree with Jennifer…OBP is better than work any and every day!!!

Henry, what a very smart pug you are pushing off to swim.  I bet you could go for a long time fetching your lobster.

Swim Camp 2010 has been pure delight.  Corrine, you have captured those pugs so beautifully and shown their individual styles.

Heather, please let us know when you receive word from your vet.  I bet Bax is enjoying his time at work with Momma.

Doing Now - too bad it so so hot.  I know the pugs are missing their walks.  I used to walk BoPeep 5 am in the morning when the weather was hot.  I was an early riser in those days.

Awwwwww, Henry is so talented swimming and carrying Mr. Lobster in his mouth!!!!

I love that he is smart enough to figure out the push off from the wall.  You are going to make me buy Hooie a life jacket! He is having trouble with his back leg and I think that swimming will be good for his joints.

Worried?  His wrinkles are even worried.  I can’t believe the push off…he looks so Olympic!

sue - I just answered your questions on yesterday’s blog post so I won’t repeat it here.  (I don’t want to take up too much space on personal things)  I really, really appreciate your interest.

Heather - how’s Cole?
