The Bravest of Them All

Henry

The dog park has a nifty water fountain for the dogs that has bowls on two different levels. One on the ground and one about knee level for larger dogs. It is a great idea, the only problem is that only Henry is brave enough to drink from the fountain. Benjamin and Luna don't seem to trust a water bowl with a small stream of water shooting up from the middle. In fact they wouldn't go anywhere near they fountain lest they get wet!

Henry’s love for all things wet prevails!  Smart boy to stay hydrated, Handsome Henry!  Benny and Miss Looney - give it a try, bet you find it refreshing (if not scary!).  Love the two levels of bowls…so cute!

You go Henry.  When you go back maybe you cah convince Benny and Luna that the fountain is a great thing, or if there are more dogs there who are drinking, they will learn to follow suit. Just like people, pugs have their individual fears.

What a Henry!  You are solid and pragmatic, just like your name:  Water bowls are for drinking, swimming pools are for swimming.  Very straight-forward.  I think it’s a tribute to all of your loving attention, Corrine, that all 3 pugs have such strong and unique personalities.  I could easily see a children’s book in the making with your writing skills, also.  Something to think about maybe?  You have such terrific pictures already that could be included.

I have to add…love how you can see Henry’s lil’ pink tongue lapping up his refreshing drink.  Too cute Hank!

I just want to smooch his head! That is just adorable! Love the fresh water idea too. Our dog park doesn’t have that. You have to bring your own water and Pip doesn’t drink unless he is at home. smile

Love his pink tongue too!

Well ladies today….I am the big 4-0! Feeling pretty good about that! Pip wished me a Happy Birthday by passing gas this morning in bed. Thats an alarm clark that would get anyone out of bed!!

Pug Hugs to all from Gina & Pip!

Henry is sooo adventurous, but if it involves water…looks like he is game!!
Maybe someday Benny and Luna will see what they are missing out on!  Yeppers ..love the pink tongue!!

Our girl is off to university, 3 hours away.. Mr. Skittles is a bit mopey, as are mom & dad… But we will be fine!! We have been advised to take Mr. Skittles for extra long walks!!

Gina, happy birthday.  It is not bad at all turning 40.  It is after all just a number, and that is not the important thing.  Hope you can enjoy many more happy birthdays.  Oh, and Pip was giving you the only birthday present he could think of.  Of course kisses would have been nicer, but this way you will remember a year from now what he gave you for your 40th.  Hugs

Happy B’day GINA!  “They” always say:  Life begins at 40.  Time to take inventory - look around you and see if you’re where you want to be - location and state-of-mind-wise, physically and emotionally.  Forties can be a new lease on life - or says Jane Fonda, I think.  At any rate, I hope the day is especially happy for you.  And if PIP is feeling particularly gassy today - maybe he can help you blow out your birthday candles! heh-heh

Slurp, slurp…be with you in a minute…

OMG Mary, how did you come up with that one?

Oh Gina, that is a smile maker.  Pretty quick of Pip to figure out getting you up. (Musta been one of those clear the room ones.)  Hope you are having just a great birthday.  I have two sons who are over 40.  Boy if that doesn’t make you run screaming to the hair coloring bottle.  Enjoy 40 and beyond.  Like Sue VDB says, it’s only a number.  You are moving in on the best times of your life.

Oh Hellen, it must be so hard for you having her birthday when you just lost her.  I know she was up in years, how old would she be?  Hoping you have sweet memories of your darling, and that even though you miss her terribly, you know she is young, happy and healthy.  Happy birthday GiGi.  Hugs to you Hellen.

HELLEN:  It may sound a bit odd - I had a stuffed (toy) Lhasa Apso and after I had to have my (real) LA put down - her name was Molly - I would pat the stuffed LA on the head from time to time and say “I love you, Molly” and felt that this was transmitted to her in Rainbow Bridge-land.  It made me feel a little closer and connected to her and sort of filled in the hole in my heart a little bit.  I have a fawn-colored beany baby - and if you would send me your address - I would love to send her on to you, if you would like.  My home email is:  Noodlesoup50@gmail.com
Take care.

HELLEN:  The beany baby is a PUG.  Sorry I left that off.  Just let me know.  I truly know how hard it hurts not to have that special buddy sitting on your lap or greeting you when you come in the door.  I mourned my love-bird, Eddie, as he would let out a special chirp when he heard me come in the house from work.

Happy Birthday to GiGi too! How lucky am I to share a birthday with that sweet girl!

Great comments everyone! Very funny Mary C. I think it that might be a tad dangerous. I just gave him some baby anti-gas medicine. Hopefully it works!

Mary, what a sweet thing to offer and what a sweet use of a stuffed animal.  I think it helps the mental by having a physical object.

Bless you GiGi and happy birthday.  Your love is still shining in Hellen.

BTW Pug Mama, how has your Abby been doing?

Go Henry, you brave boy!!!!!

Happy Birthday Gina, and pug hugs to angel Gigi on her Birthday grin

Pug mama is running wild on her new job!!!!  Woohoo, I got it grin  I have never been a long term care nurse, but I am quickly learning.  Abby has been spending some of the time with my mom, cuz honestly, I think she is showing some signs of being a befuddled elderly lady, and gets confused, and barks and howls when she is alone too long, especially at night.  It makes me so sad when I get home and she is parked on the sofa just cooing and howling to herself, and since she is deaf, I think that just makes it all the worse.  No new breathing episodes thankfully, she is just an old girl showing all of her 13 yrs 7 months of age.

Lilo n Me

09/08/2011

Well i’m pretty sure Lilo would not go near that fountain either, so Benny and Luna you are in great company!!!

Happy Birthday Gina!!! Pip couldn’t afford the 21 gun salute, “butt”, the “one bum salute” was well within the budget lol. Indeed welcome to the club, and btw, 40 is the new 30!!

Love and pug hugs to all,
Lilo n me

Gina

Lilo n Me, that was awesome! Holy moly! “Butt” I will tell ya, at the rate he is going, it is going to be a 21 gun salute! woo wee! I’m beginning to think something is wrong! Holy Moly!

Once again, thank you all for the birthday wishes. My hubby, sis and Dad threw me a little surprise party tonight and boy did they surprise me. I had no idea!

Anyway, thanks again obp family! Pug Hugs!!
