The Decor

Sol in the guest bedroom

Many of you have noticed that we have a very pug friendly decor going on in the living room.  The furniture is about a close of a match to the fawn color as you can get and the carpet throughout most of the house is a light shade.  It is no coincidence that the house decor is made up of the majority of these colors.  I really am crazy enough to use the pug friendly colors so that the pug fur flying about the house does not show quite as bad.  The fur is there and you will notice it, but at least it won’t be the first thing you notice when you walk in the door.  It also buys me some time in between cleanings because, trust me, domestic goddess I am not.

Well, Sol is a pug, but she isn’t fawn.  I have been having a very good laugh about that ever since she stepped foot into our house.  Please don’t misunderstand me, never for one second did I hesitate to welcome her into the house.  I would never let something as little as her fur change how I feel about this little darling.  I just find it amusing.  It’s like she has been sent to me as a sign - a sign that I need to run the vacuum a little more often. grin

But all is not lost.  There are other areas of the house, the Sol fits in quite perfectly.  I have not seen one hair of hers on the black throw rugs in the kitchen for example.  And the guest bedroom, where she is laying in the picture above, has black carpet and only seems to be full of Benjamin, Henry & Luna’s hair.

The good news in all this is that the sound of the vacuum does not bother her.  Heck, it barely even disturbs her sleep.

LOL, you still have pug friendly decor - one for fawn and another for black.  I also notice that sweet SOL has her own Freedom Harness.  You and your hubby are way over the top.

P.S.  Guess that makes you an equal opportunity OBP.

The smile on Sol’s precious little face in that pic warms my heart…I want to nuzzle in that belly!!!  It *was* meant to be…right down to her own coordinating decor.  Sol, you are a PERFECT fit!

I have noticed with my black pug,Luke, that he doesnt shed as much as Genevieve, our fawn. Anyway, I dont notice it as much. Sol
is indeed a very blessed young lady to have
found such a wonderful home. I wish I didnt
live so far out in the boonies of Central Texas, or I would love to be a foster mom.
But maybe it’s a good thing, it would be hard
for me to give them up when the time came.

I too try to keep all things “fawn-like”. I used to think I would never want a black pug, but being on this site and seeing all the delightful black puggies, including Sol, I think I might be changing my mind.  But the decor!  What will I do?  Although my wardrobe, which has some black and navy, would be thrilled with a black pug! Thank the heavens for those lint rollers-one in the house, in the car and at the office!

I’m like Brenda.  My black pug BoPeep did not shed nearly as much as my fawn pugs.

I’m so used to having pug fur trail behind me that I barely even notice it.  But I do have a strategy for when I’m trying to look good for something: I wear my bathrobe over my outfit until it’s time to leave to keep myself fur-free.

Having already taken the decor into consideration and the need for a bigger sofa, and her being the sun to Luna’s moon, has she already grown on you to the point you aren’t really thinking of letting her go anywhere?

That is really cute and I know what you mean! When we got Indy we bought a beige sofa set, works perfectly but Gus has alot more black in his fur place one of the cats is pure black! But our carpet is this perfect plan of light brown and black, it hides everything! Even the accident’s that happen.. which isn’t necessarily a good thing!
Ahh to have a pug not freaked out by the vaccum!

I fostered a little black pug for a while. The different ways their hair sheds all throughout the house was interesting. She is so cute!

Funny, we feel the same way!  It goes for clothing too….run through the house if your wearing black or navy…but you can hold Marty!

Who cares about the shedding fur?  She looks so peaceful and happy.  Isn’t that worth a few extra runs of the vaccuum?  Of course, you could always shave her!  grin

Who wouldn’t want to rub that cute belly!!?
I think she is enjoying the new company and attention, and if we (OBP Readers)lived closer, we would probably drop by to visit, with our little puggies of course!
Happy Weekend All,

My black beauty, Lily, doesn’t shed anywhere near as bad has her fawn sister and brothers.

We bought our new house a year ago and I have to admit that while we were choosing carpet and flooring colors we were keeping in mind the pug hair and what would hide it best!!
Ah, the lengths we go through for our precious puggies!

Sol looks so peaceful in all the pictures you’ve shown us. I hope the rest of her life is the same. What a sweetheart.

But you have to love them!!!
