Luna's toenail coloring

Benjamin, Henry & Luna all have paws that have multi-colored toenails. Some nails are really dark while others are on the lighter side. Luna’s nails seem to have the most color difference. Does your pug have multi-colored nails?

I have actually been looking for information on the net regarding multi-color nails on Pugs. All I have read has been your blog and other sites where it says that Pugs nails should be all black, else it is a defect. Have you received more information regarding this?

My baby only has black-colored nails. I wanted the groomer to polish them gold-flecked, but Cara wouldn’t stand it. BTW: Your babies are adorable.

One of my pugs has jet black nails and the other has clear nails that has a black stripe running now the middle, they look like they were painted! Crazy thing is they are brothers from the same litter!

I too am searching the web for information and came across this site. I am happy to hear that my Cash isn’t the only pug with clear nails with black stripes running down the middle! I was praying this wasn’t a sign of malnourishment. I often worry I am not feeding him enough. But the second I offer him more than his usual portion, he sniffs it & walks away! Go figure.
