What a wonderful picture and so cute with your back legs stretched out on the cool cement.

We had a scare this weekend.  Saturday, Georgie was coughing like he had a pug oyster stuck in his throat and couldn’t dislodge it.  By 6 p.m. I was getting frantic as he couldn’t go more than a minute between coughing spells so I bit the bullet and called the vet at home.  He said to give him 1/2 an adult dose of coughing syrup every two hours.  As I was alone I had to do it by myself which resulted in long scratches on my arm and cough syrup everywhere.  Small price for his being able to breathe in comfort.  I continued the regimen Sunday and he only had one small spell.  I’ll call the vet this a.m. but don’t want to hear of a possible collapsed trachea which is what I fear.

The OBP pugs seem to have no end to health problems lately so hopefully this is the end of them.

Georgie has been “collecting” again and has a good sized “stash” going once more.  He was upset when the last “stash” disappeared and I think he’s been planning the latest one for some time now.  I’ve told him that if he is healthy, I’ll even go out and recruit bones for the latest stash.  He gave me the oddest look.

Hey what Huckle!

Are you telling me that Georgie goes around collecting bones and hiding them???

One warm fall afternoon, Brodie lay sunning himself and surveying the territory…HIS Territory all around him..  He was one lucky pug he thought to himself.  I have it ALL… food, treats, a loving mama, and the most gorgeous yard!  Brodie LOVED flowers and if he had his way….he would bring some in to his mama every day.

However, Brodie knew that his delicate paws hadn’t been designed for flower picking, so he just lay there…warming his soft belly on the cement step just outside the door. His mind wandered..Thanksgiving was just around the corner and he knew that if he was good, really good, that some Thanksgiving turkey would be coming his way… OH JOY he thought!!  There just wasn’t anything Brodie enjoyed more than all the Thanksgiving smells drifting around the kitchen on that particular day…..and if there were guests in the house…..there was always the possibility of making the rounds at the dinner table….hoping that someone mistakenly…or on PURPOSE…. dropped something he might snatch up!  I am a lucky, lucky pug, oh yes, Brodie thought to himself!

Hi Brodie,

I bet you are patiently waiting on the step for your owner’s return so then you’ll be able to go to the park and play with your other puggy friends.

Many Pug hug and prayers from all of us to all of you.
Peace and pug love evryone.

Robin, it was easier finding this than retyping my comment from ll/04/l0…perhaps the rest of you can bare with what you’ve once read.  Here goes…

Oh, oh…..if looks could kill!  Bam!

I am sorry to have to inform you all of this, but Georgie has a “stash”.  And, I am his enabler.

I discovered this shameful fact as I was straightening up his pillow and blanket next to my chair.  Under the blanket, on top of his pillow lay 20 (I counted) beef marrow bones. I have to admit that I’ve been blantantly bringing them into the house and not paying attention to the amount he has been using, although, I think he’s been lifting from the other Pugs as well.  No one’s talking. I wondered where they all went.  Until we can get him rehabed, the bones stay, but don’t report either him or me.  We’re working on it.

Pug hugs,

Well, I wish I could leave Dolly on the front porch by herself.  If I did she would probably:
              1) Bite the mail carrier.
              2) Chase every car that passes by.
              3) Run off into the woods after
                every little sound.
              4) Get herself run over by whatever
                vehicle she is chasing.
              5) Get herself shot, poisoned or
                some other awful thing that
                people around here will do.

We live in a very rural area of Alabama(Wilmer),and people in these parts don’t value the lives of animals the way my wife and I do.  Often if a dog takes sick, it’s easier, and cheaper, to just shoot it than take it to the vet.
I don’t know whose medical bills are higher, mine or my dogs.  They will be less now, though.  We had to put down my 16 yr old cocker on Friday,Nov. 11.
We took care of him as much as possible, the last several years, just got so he couldn’t function much as a dog at all anymore.  Covered w/boils, lots of pain and barely able to walk.  Not to mention the blindness, the total fur loss and dementia, and partial loss of control of his bodily functions.  My wife and I both fervently hope there is a place in Heaven for animals.
                Steve Lindhurst.
P.S. It was a difficult decision mainly because he still loved to eat.

Hi Steve, Sorry to hear of your loss-and yes there is a special place for our beloved babies it’s the rainbow bridge and it even has a web site just type in rainbow bridge HOWEVER be prepared for a good cry. As a pastor I believe God created such a place for our pets to wait till we can join them when our time comes. Hope this will help during your time of grieving. Robin just give me a little heads up so I can prepare Daisy, Solsie and Beauty! Pug hugs from the Colorado. 4

Oh Steve, that is just so awful and must have been so hard to go through.  “earth’s loss is heaven’s gain” and we all take comfort in the Rainbow Bridge as Sue States.said.  Now you are really in mourning which most people don’t understand.  Nevertheless you and your wife let yourselves the tears and memories flow.

Sounds like Miss Dolly could use a couple of pug smooches.  She must be an interesting character curmudgeon to rival my Abby.  Why do we love these guys so?
