Oh Oh. Chumlee looks like he’s been caught doing something he shouldn’t have.

Once upon a time there was a puglet named Chumlee.  He was just a baby and wasn’t yet completely “trained”.  One morning, Chumlee’s mother came out to the kitchen and stepped in something wet that was not on the newspapers that had been laid out on the floor….. “Oh my Chumlee!” she exclaimed.  “I want you to use the newspapers for that kind of thing”....Chumlee looked at her and said..“Mama…do YOU use newspapers?(Chumlee’s mama had to admit she didn’t.)  Chumlee looked at her with his big pleading, soulful brown eyes ...and after she took a picture of him, she picked him up and smothered him with kisses and hugs.  Chumlee was so happy to be so loved…..and his mama was so happy to be loved by Chumlee!

Wayne and Robin both have clever stories!  Chumlee you are a sweet baby puglet and it looks like you are spreading your legs wide to support your little pug body!  So sweet.

Chumlee, you look like a great master’s oil painting.  Are you real?  Love the wrinkles, the ears and every other inch of you.

Robin, loved your story.  It was so perfect.

Hi Chumlee!  Yes, sweet baby, you are going to have the clicky thing in your face over and over.  Because as adorable as you are, that’s just going to be the way it is!

Love your story, Robin!

And I always love yours, Wayne!

Robin, you wrote a fantastic story.  Hope we see more of this on OBP.

Chumlee, like Martha said the clicky thing will be every present in your life.  You are one good looking little puglet.  Hope to hear more about you.

Oh Chumlee what a beautiful baby you are. Love the sweet puppie tummie. Tell Mom that Wee Wee pads work great for training. Put one down where it is safe to go, even on the porch or outside in the yard. Put you on it a lot!! When you catch on to what it is for life will become a ot easier.

I was just wondering….does everyone who visits this site own a pug..or two…or three… or more?  (I can’t have a pug in my apartment building, although I have been lucky enough to “have been owned” by 4 pugs during the course of my long life.  I believe that “wealth and love” can be measured in pugs…oh..if I could only have 9 of them!!  (9 is my favorite number).

Kat

It sure seems that we all own pugs, but you belong here too even if you can’t have a pug in the apartment.  It’s obvious you’ve been owned by pugs - Maybe you can find an apartment that will allow pets - we have them all over here in the Pacific Northwest.  As long as you promise to take the pug out walking and playing!!  smile  I have three pugs - one is old and in a doggie mobility cart, one is blind and one is a super-energetic alpha female.  I call her my Jack Russel Terrier in a Pug body!  She bounces off the ceiling!

Hmmm.  I wonder if I’m missing something. Dolly almost always has that look on her face.  I usually have to wonder what she’s been up to.  Does this little baby have blue eyes?

You are truly blessed to be owned by 3 pugs Kat!  And they are truly blessed to be owned by you…what a trio….bet you wake up happy every day…..never a dull moment!  I live in MA and here it seems that apartments aren’t too dog friendly….Maybe someday!

Romeo, a pug, owns me along with two other dogs and an obnoxious cat.  I have been owned by at least one pug since 1963.  Regardless of what other dogs or cats have blessed this house, have always had to have a pug.

I just wanted to share some info about Chumlee . I am his mother , Jennifer . He is 1&1/2 years old. Probably the sweetest dog in the world. The look he has in this pictureis his ” Please Mama ” look , which of course gets him whatever it is that he is wanting. Thanks for all of your comments , Chumlee loves the attention , as you all know , pugs are all about attention. Pugs and kisses to you all !

Sleighbelle

Jennifer, My Sleighbelle just had her 14th birthday last month.  I can hardly remember her at this sweet, new age.  I hope you get to celebrate Chumlee’s 14th birthday too!

Robin, I am owned by Sleighbelle; but at one time I was owned by Sleighbelle and Birdy, a precious senior rescue.  She is over the rainbow bridge and while I had her, she brought so much love and light into my life.

Steve, I think it’s just the light playing on Chumlee’s eyes.  And that “look” really never leaves a pug face—especially if they know there is food around!!

I think we all can agree, there are never enough pugs in our lives!

Jenniifer, it is wonderful “to meet” the owner of priceless Chumlee!

Sleighbelle,  Happy Birthday to you!  I hope your day was filled with play, sleep, cuddling with Mama, walkies, and plenty of treats!  My second pug, Millstone lived to the age of 14….when he passed over the rainbow, he was cremated and now rests in a little can (that is quite heavy as it represents 20 pounds of pug). ... When I pass over the rainbow I will be buried with him.  I sometimes pick up the little can that came with a sympathy card from the vet, and say “hello” to him.  I hope I go to pug heaven someday!

Oh Grannygoogs, what wonderful news.  You must be sure to give us all the details…and pictures.

Pug Hugs,
Sue VDB and Romeo

Since my vet also owns a dog park and doggy daycare, I called him, and he was walked out of the place.  His dad started Welborn Pet Hospital in 1957.  We’ve been going there since 1965.  When his dad semi-retired we saw his brother.  When his brother decided to turn the building into a grooming/boarding place, we started seeing Jim.  Last year Jim sold the place to VCA, and I started noticing some changes I didn’t like.  Jim was bound by a 2 year contract, but when VCR began doing things he didn’t approve of, he let them know, and they walked him out the door, not to return.  He is taking a much needed rest, but already has a couple of options in place.  However, he will be semi-retired and will probably work only a couple days a week.  In the meantime he has recommended another vet, which I especially need because Romeo is on thyroid meds and Missy is on Phoenoharhital for her seizures.  So my four are going to have to make an adjustment to a new vet, whoever he might me.  Hopefully Jim won’t go too far away, and even if he is there only a couple of days a week, that might work.  If not, he understands, because he knows my kids.

Gwen, I have to tell you this.  I am still laughing over a recent post from you.  I do not know why but this has really tickled my funny bone and I burst out laughing “get your big old melon off my laptop”

GG, why you stinker.  Puppies on your horizon and you just now tell us.  Actually I am so thrilled and I hope you will tell us of their antics after you bring them home.  Guess our days of possible pug napping is over. (sigh)

Sue VDB.  I understand your desire to have your old vet being still around.  My vet is super too, good explanations, etc.  I asked that he be the one to see the pugs because he knew their history, not that the other vet wasn’t top notch, I just wanted stability when I take them in. It didn’t seem to be an issue with them. I hope it works out the way you want it too.
